I used to watch TV news and yell at the box. Now I jump up from the couch, sit at the computer and begin to type laughing maniacally saying "Wait until they read this." It's more fun than squashing tadpoles

Reid Threatens Filibuster on Illegal Immigration Bill

How can some people be so consistently on the wrong end of the proverbial stick. If there was one appendage that the Democrats could rip from the Republicans and beat them savagely with, it is illegal immigration. But Sen. Harry Reid wants to make positively sure that never happens. He has vowed to filibuster the bill being offered by Sen. Bill Frist who is trying to force the Judiciary Committee to get of their collected duff and put forward a bill in early April. And what is it in Frist's bill that Reid doesn't like? Why it has no amnesty provision. Not that Harry Reid would call it that, doesn't matter calling a pig's ear a silk purse won't make it so.

Sen. Reid's preferred bill is Kennedy-McCain which waves the white flag on illegal immigration by giving those illegally here already the ability to stay. The "'guest worker' program and a 'path to citizenship'" the he likes in this bill is just that, amnesty. Fortunately the House is not going to stand for any flavor of amnesty. They seem to not be as ossified as the Senate who's members are nearly clueless on what is happening on our southern border. A guest worker program can be something we can work on after we stop the flow of colonists from Mexico into the United States.
