Tasty Treat Before Bush Speech
Today while anticipating the immigration speech President Bush will give tonight I'm thinking of a diversion that has nothing to do with the issues of the day. I went to the Food Lion and picked up the ingredients for making Mango Habanero Chutney. I also got a bag of Murray's Ginger Snaps. In my opinion Murray's are the top of the line in ginger snaps and nothing is better than dipping them in the chutney.
The chutney is just a couple of mangoes cut up and cooked with ½ c of water, 1c brown sugar, 1/2c vinegar and 1c of white raisins with a tsp. each of cinnamon, ground cloves, ground cardamom and ground ginger. Cook it all together for 15 min. Add one cut up habanero and start dipping those ginger snaps, man is that good stuff.
Note: Habaneros chilies are the hottest pepper you can get. They are 100 times hotter than a Jalapeno. They will have me all fired up for blogging the speech.

|Sounds more than tasty, but ay caramba, a CUP of habaneros! Positively inflammatory!
Gringo, you no understand, 1 cut up Habanero
Ah! Senor Chef is correct (of course) *only* one cut up habanero. Matches not needed. Still think it sounds good.
On an aside I'm making Chan Masala tonight so we have something to pour over the brown rice - not sure about the protein yet....
