I used to watch TV news and yell at the box. Now I jump up from the couch, sit at the computer and begin to type laughing maniacally saying "Wait until they read this." It's more fun than squashing tadpoles

Episcopalian Church in America Could Elect Another Gay Bishop

The Episcopalian Church in America began to unravel before any openly gay Bishops were ordained. The most obvious sign of impending doom was the announcement by the head of the seminary in the US announcing that he did not believe the Bible was inspired. Once a Christian denomination abandon's the authority of scripture it cuts loose from the foundation of the church and will drift into all manner of nonsense.

Throughout the Bible the importance God places on His word is made clear. Jesus, the focus of Christianity is called the word. The Gospel of John opens with the equating of the word with God. When the Episcopalian Church in America left the Word of God it left God indeed.

An Anglican clergywoman in a long-term, same-sex relationship is set to become the first lesbian bishop, causing uproar among traditionalists. The evangelical wing of the worldwide Anglican Communion has said that the election of the Rev Bonnie Perry will lead to the "unravelling" of the Church.

...[T]he Diocese of California has put forward Miss Perry and a second actively homosexual candidate, the Very Rev Robert Taylor, as nominees to replace the retiring Bishop William Swing in May.

Dr Taylor, the dean of St Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle, is also in a long-term, same-sex relationship.

To have so many people who are practicing homosexuals in positions prominent enough to now be considered as candidates for Bishop reveals a situation that has been tolerated for a very long time. To have waited this long to deal with it suggests that the Anglican Communion was ignoring the problem or unwilling to deal with it. at this point it's probably too late.

I have long expected some denomination to either become, or be started as, a Christian religion that erases all prohibition of homosexuality. It will be interested to see how they expunge the references from the scriptures, so they can justify the enlightenment...
