I used to watch TV news and yell at the box. Now I jump up from the couch, sit at the computer and begin to type laughing maniacally saying "Wait until they read this." It's more fun than squashing tadpoles

Mayor Nagin Talks With God

God, having finished talking with Pat Robertson is now chatting with New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin.

"Surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it's destroyed and put stress on this country," Nagin, who is black, said as he and other city leaders marked Martin Luther King Day.

"Surely he doesn't approve of us being in Iraq under false pretenses. But surely he is upset at black America also. We're not taking care of ourselves."

Nagin also promised that New Orleans will be a "chocolate" city again. Many of the city's black neighborhoods were heavily damaged by Katrina.

It was not enough to make one questionable statement, no he had to continue on a roll with the announcement that the city would again be mostly populated by people the same race as himself. What kind of mayor even cares what race the people are that he governs? If Mayor Nagin would concentrate on making the city livable again, make the city favorable for business to come back and provide a secure environment for all neighborhoods then people will repopulate the city. Their race should be of no concern. If the Mayor is uncomfortable governing a city with people in it that are different looking from him perhaps he should find another line of work. One would have thought that God would have said something about that when he was telling him why He sent the hurricanes.
