My First Town Hall Meeting Fredericksburg, VA

I have heard the stories of various Town Meetings throughout the country. Try as I might, I could find no meetings scheduled for my district or by any of my Senators.Then my Representative, Mr Rob Wittman announced he was hosting on on September 1, 2009 in Fredericksburg, VA.

All arrangements made to accommodate the farm animals, we made the hour journey, parked three blocks away and made it with time to get at the end of a very long line. Few people had signs. The most who did had preprinted signs made by the pro-government organization Health care for America Now. A woman for that organization came walking along the line toward us. She stopped suddenly when she recognized someone she knew, then gave him a sign and lapel sticker. Having done so she turned and walked back the other way.

I turned to my wife and wondered why the woman did not ask us if we wanted a sign. Then I had an idea.

I caught up with her and asked, "May I have a sign?"

Surprised she replied, "Yes, which one would you like?"

I chose the one most likely to serve my purpose. She asked if I wanted a lapel sticker, I said "Nagh."

Back in line I looked at the wording of the sign and wondered aloud how I could modify it to suit my need. It read,"INSURANCE PROFITS ARE BAD FOR MY HEALTH." I asked people in line if any had a pen, getting one I got on the ground and began to cross out "PROFITS ARE" and adding above INSURANCE, the word GOVERNMENT. At this moment the woman who gave me the sign had come back demanding I return the sign.

I stood up incredulous that she make such a demand. She repeated her demand so I replyed in as childish a manner as I could, "No! You gave it to me, It's mine!"

"Well I'm calling the police." She shot back.

"Go get him and bring him here." I replied.

Not long after she stomped off the line began to move. When we reached to door she was there waiting with Officer Friendly. Pointing me out he asked me to step aside. My wife went on in to secure a place to sit. Officer Friendly says to me, "She says you took here sign."

"No Sir, I asked her for a sign, she offered me a choise as to which one, I chose this one and she gave it to me."

Turning back to her he asked if she gave the sign to me when I asked. She said acknowledged that she did, then Officer Friendly let me go in.

The meeting was generally orderly. The Congressman was not in favor of the bill so he had a positive response from the crowd most of the evening. There were a few supporters of the bill but they were rather quiet. Speakers were chosen from 3x5 cards with names in a hopper. I was not chosen. As we left the sign woman and her grew were outside the door. She asked if I enjoyed my sign which I affirmed. We stopped at a BBQ place in Fredericksburg. As I was putting the tip on the table who should walk in but my friend the sign lady. She laughed when she saw me. I told her to have a nice evening and went out to catch up with my wife.

Great Grandmother Sets National Deadlift Record

This is 72 year old Roberta Dearden competing in the 100% RAW federation's Potomac Open. This video shows her attempt to break the javascript:void(0) in the woman's 165 lbs class 70-74 year old division with a lift of 120 lbs.

She began weight lifting while recovering from a broken hip three years ago. It has helped to not just regain strength but her doctor has been able to take her off some of her other medications. Her next goal is to set a world dead lift record.

Calvin "C.J." Lavant Jr., 23, formerly of Cordele, died Sunday. Funeral, 3 p.m. Saturday, A.S. Clark School Auditorium; J.W. Williams Funeral Home.

This is just one name that could have been ten had this man's name not appeared in the obituary.
That is because he and Jamal Hill broke into the home of Charles Bailey who was celebrating his birthday with nine other friends. The account is chilling.

Hill and 23-year old Calvin Lavant of College Park allegedly burst into an apartment located in the Southern Lakes apartments on Lakemont Drive in College Park around 3 a.m. Sunday.
The resident of the apartment, Charles Bailey, told police that he thought it was the end of his life. He and ten other people were in his apartment celebrating at a birthday party when two masked gunmen burst through the patio door.
"They just came in and separated the men from the women and demanded wallets and cell phones," said George Williams of the College Park Police Department.
Bailey further informed authorities that the suspects counted their bullets.

What would have ended in a horrifying report of mass muder and rape, talked about in the press everywhere with all the lurid details and calls for more gun regulations, instead has remained a none story except for the local news. All because of one man.

Hill was guarding the men when one of the victims retrieved a gun from a backpack and turned the tables on the situation. Hill reportedly fled the scene.
The victim with the gun then proceeded to the next room where Lavant had watch over the females at the party.
"The guy was apparently was about to rape one of the females," said Bailey. "The guy with the gun called for the girls to get down and he started shooting. The suspect just jumped out of the window."....
...Bailey said if not for the quick thinking of that party goer, it is likely that all the victims would have been killed. "I am thankful that one student risked his life for others."

A good thing they were not in a gun free zone, eh?

No Retreat Law in Montana and Florida

There has been a sudden interest in a post I have on the Arizona No Retreat Law. This is a law that allows an individual to defend himself without first having to expend all possibility of escape for those who would rob, injure or kill them.

For too long, jurisdictions have prosecuted citizens who defended their home by attacking an intruder because the law required the victim to reach a dead end in retreat from the criminal before lethal force could be justified. The result being some criminals wining lawsuits against their victims for causing the criminal injury while trying to protect their property from being carried off. So the people eventually found politicians who returned the law to a more common understanding of justice, i.e. that defense of one's self and property is a fundamental right.

This interest could be spurred by the state of Montana passing into law House Bill 228.

House Bill 228 is a broad piece of legislation that provides a number of specific protections for law-abiding citizens. This new law clarifies the ability of law-abiding citizens to carry a firearm in plain view and to present the firearm for defensive purposes when threatened. Additionally, the law puts clearly into statute existing Montana case law providing that, when threatened, a law-abiding citizen has no duty to retreat if the person is in any place he or she has a legal right to be. Other provisions include expanding existing law to allow the use of force in defense of an occupied structure and preventing landlords and hotel operators from restricting self-defense rights.

Or, it could be the report from Florida of a farmer killing one of two people who were engaged in stealing his land cruiser.

Tony Curtis Phillips, 29, didn't fire a single shot. He didn't even know his girlfriend, Nikki McCormick, was dead until police showed him an online news story.
Police said McCormick accompanied Phillips as he attempted to steal the SUV from a barn in an orange grove near Wahneta, Florida, before daylight Tuesday.
Grove owner Ladon "Jamie" Jones opened fire as the SUV approached him, according to an affidavit released by the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Phillips fled; McCormick was shot in the head and later died.
Authorities said Jones is protected by Florida's "no retreat" law, which gives him the right to use lethal force if he reasonably believes his life is in danger. Phillips, however, faces charges because police allege he was committing felony grand theft auto at the time of McCormick's death.
"Because his conduct caused her death, he gets charged with a felony," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.

This is as it should be. Unfortunate that someone had to lose her life for the main perpetrator to learn his lesson but it may serve as an example to others who would otherwise be inclined to do their neighbor ill. The real danger now however is against a thief from whom we have little defense.

Obama said Thursday that Chrysler was forced into bankruptcy because a small group of investors and hedge funds would not go along with a deal to save the iconic automaker.

He said the small group was "hoping that everybody else would make sacrifices and they would have to make none. Some demanded twice the returns that other investors were getting.

"I don't stand with them," he said.

The government in the person of Barack Obama seems to think that it is OK to demonize the bondholders in Chrysler because they refuse to be bullied into a plan to take the company away from the legitimate owners and transfer it to the unions and the government. There are clear laws regarding the order of distribution when a company seeks protection from it's debtors. Obama seems to believe that these laws need not be upheld simply because the government has "loaned" tax money to the company in a futile effort to save it. While the taxpayer's interest in the company has been lost, Obama has required the original investors to give up their rights so the government can justify it's poor decisions.

While states are passing self defense protection laws the citizens need some kind of protection from the looters of their future wealth. A common thief can only steal what one has. The government can steal not only what wealth we have but also that which we have yet to earn.

Chrysler Bankruptcy and the Nathional Interest

The bond holders of Chrysler refused to be the victims of the government's efforts to sweep the company's problems under the rug. Predictably, Obama chastised them for not being willing to follow the path of destruction taken by the holders of GM's debt.

Earlier Thursday an administration official said the restructuring of Chrysler LLC will go forward even though a handful of hedge funds have refused to accept the Treasury Department's offer to cut the auto maker's debt.

"Their failure to act in either their own economic interest or the national interest does not diminish the accomplishments" by Chrysler, its planned alliance partner Fiat SpA and other stakeholders in the company, the official said, "nor will it impede the new opportunity Chrysler now has to restructure and emerge stronger going forward."

They are acting in their own economic interest. That is what the administration is condemning them for. They did not loan money to Chrysler because they wanted to perform some nationalist service, nor should they now sacrifice by losing even more than they all ready have for that reason. The government's efforts to destroy the bondholder's value will make it impossible for any company to raise capital by selling bonds, for no one will have the confidence that the government will not then steal the value of their investment for the "national interest."

Read this passage from Atlas Shrugged and ask if we are not already there:

...men who apologize for being rich- will not remain rich for long. Hey are the natural bait for the swarms of looters that stay under rocks for centuries, but come crawling out at the first smell of a man who begs to be forgiven for the guilt of owning wealth. They will hasten to relieve him of that guilt - and his life, as he deserves.

Then you will see the rise of the men of the double standard-the men who live by force, yet count on those who live by trade to create the value of their looted money - the men who are the hitchhikers of virtue. In a moral society, these are the criminals, and the statutes are written to protect you against them. But when a society establishes criminals-by-right and looters-by-law - men who use force to seize the wealth of disarmed victims - then money becomes it's creator's avenger. Such looters believe it is safe to rob defenseless men, once they've passed a law to disarm them. But their loot becomes the magnet for other looters, who get it from them as they got it. Then the race goes, not to the ablest at production, but to those most ruthless at brutality. When force is the standard, the murderer wins over the pickpocket. And then that society vanishes, in a spread of ruins and slaughter.

Producers and investors are the right and left hands of prosperity. Our politicians want to cut off the hands of investors and loot the fruit of the producer's labor all in the "national interest." No one will invest and no one will produce if no one but the looters will prosper.

First Black President Reinstates Slavery

A true irony. By signing the National Service Bill, Barack Obama will institute mandatory "volunteer" service for school children and "opportunities" for older Americans to "give back" to their communities. Of particular interest is these opportunities include "political or legislative advocacy." Just call them Obama Jugen.

"Most people think national service is for young people," said a statement issued by John Gomperts, president of Civic Ventures, a group that promotes opportunities for older people. "And it is. But once President Obama signs this legislation, service will be for people of all ages."

The Richmond Tea Party, The Begining

The Big White Dog and I were at the Richmond Tea Party with my wife and a friend. The Patrick Henry Impersonator, one of the Patriots of Virginia did a fine job of performing that famous speech known by the statement spoken in unison by the crowd, "Give me liberty, or give me death!"

The crowd was estimated by one of the mounted police officers at 3500. You can see by the pictures that the park was packed beyond capacity. I arrived at about 6:30 and passed a steady stream of people leaving who had come early. There was a tightly packed crowd with many more coming in when we joined in. Tucker and I walked the perimeter meeting many people. The crown was the same mixture one would find at any park on any sunny day. Older couples, to young families were all braving rainy cold weather to make a statement of frustration with those who are supposed to represent us but instead ignore our letters, phone calls and emails, the only acknowledgment being some boiler plate generated by computer. They no more read our correspondence that the laws they pass.

The politicians seem to wish we would all just disappear. They dismiss us as elitist , wealthy taxpayers and anti government right wing extremists. Only Fox News has made any attempt to report what we are doing. CNN just sent out a hit job reporter the try and bully people she interviewed. I say let them ignore us at their peril.

The Constitution and Old Ironsides

It was altogether fitting that among the tea party protests mounted across the country yesterday, one was held at Boston. - Fitting not just because that was the location of the first one many years ago, but also because a United States warship was built there in 1797, a 44-gun frigate christened the US CONSTITUTION, one of the first six warships provided by the Congress. Under full sail, she was a mighty fighting ship to behold.

The CONSTITUTION was well built, well manned and well skippered, such that she spent more time at sea and won more victories than any other US warship of its time. Yet, she came through her many battles with so little damage to her hull that she was nicknamed, "Old Ironsides."

In 1830, the Navy decided to demolish the CONSTITUTION. But, when the American people learned of the Navy plans, they were outraged. And Oliver Wendell Holmes on September 16, 1830 published his poem, "Old Ironsides."

"Ay, tear her tattered ensign down!" he wrote.
"Long has it waved on high,
And many an eye has danced to see
That banner in the sky;"

"Her deck, once red with heroes' blood,"

* * * * "

In the context of current counter-piracy operations involving the US Navy, it is significant that the CONSTITUTION was Commodore Preble's flagship in the war with Tripoli; and one of her captains was William Bainbridge, whose name is carried by the US destroyer that responded to the capture of the American commercial cargo ship, MAERSK ALABAMA in April of 2009.

Now, just as it was important to preserve the grand old warship CONSTITUTION in 1830, it is extremely important today that we revoke the unauthorized changes made to our sacred governing Constitution by the Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, George Bush and Barack Obama administrations.

Following are examples of the damaging blows suffered by the Constitution.

Massive contorted use of the commerce clause by FDR.
Annulment of property rights in 2005 by the New London, Connecticut city government.
Mr Obama violating separation of powers by authorizing funding of embrionic stem cell research, and establishing a 250,000-member uniformed national security force.
Mr Bush and Mr Obama nationalizing financial and auto industries.
Mr Obama and Congress requiring the states to accept "stimulus" payments from the federal government.
The Obama executive branch attacking a private citizen, Rush Limbaugh for his expression of political views.
The 111th Congress in early 2009 crafting punitive legislation with a bill of attainder aimed at individual corporate executive officers.
Mr Obama issuing to police chiefs and sheriffs nationwide a Department of Homeland Security intelligence report labelling as potential terrorists returning combat veterans, anti-abortionists and anti-illegal aliens.
Mr Obama asserting his post-national, global views, at the expense of United States sovereignty.

Our precious Constitution: "Tear her tattered ensign [Old Glory] down?" NEVER!!

Rather, let us patch the gaping holes and remove the destabilizing superstructure erected by traitors and greedy politicians.

The Anti Tea Party Campaign Has Begun

It appears someone of means is working to sabotage the Tea Party Movement. I got this message from Eric McGrane Of the Richmond Tea Party.

There is a robo-call telephone campaign being waged against the tea party event that is misinforming the public as to the correct date/time for the event.

Please be aware that the event is **STILL** being held on April 15th @ 6:00 at Kanawha Plaza in downtown Richmond.

Please check with any others that you know are attending to be sure that they still have the correct date/time.

I assume our event is being viewed as a threat, because we're now seeing dirty tricks being waged against our efforts. Fight on!

The powers that be would like nothing better than this movement to fizzle out and go away. What they fear most is an open discussion of what is happening and what the goal of those in government is. The nature of government is tyranny, the goal of politicians is power, the obstacle of these is an informed and engaged citizenry. These events are the beginning of our effort to bring our government back into the boundaries of our constitution. If this movement can be nipped in the bud the tyrants will have won. I for one will not go away.

Freedom and Tyranny, a book review

I stood in line with about 1000 others who were merely seeking to have a book signed by its author. The significant aspect was this book was not some work of popular fiction but the manifesto of political conservatives.

Many are frustrated with our elected officials. Mark Levin has made a name for himself as a talk show host pointing out the great divide between the citizens and the politicians who they elect to secure the rights enumerated in our Constitution. In his book "Liberty and Tyranny" Mr. Levin makes clear that we are no longer choosing between Republican and Democrat but between Statists and our Constitutional Republic. Both parties have become the agents of statism, nether is reposive to the voter but seeks only the acquisition and exercise of power.revealing the objective of the Statist

What I found in the book was the clear articulation of what I have always believed. Each of the first five chapters lays out the reason and principle behind the Constitution and the form of government the founders chose to give us. He makes the case that the Constitution secures rights for individual citizens because the founders recognized true liberty could only be individual liberty. Conversely he demonstrates how threatening individualism is to the aims of the statist.

For the Statist, Liberty is not a blessing but the enemy. It is not possible to achieve Utopia if individuals are free to go their own way. The individual must be dehumanized and his nature delegitimized. Through persuasion, deception, and coercion, the individual must be subordinated to the state....

Then in a later chapter, he lays out in an easy to understand manner how the federal government is supposed to work and how the states under federalism should be the incubators of solutions to the issues of society. Quoting justice Louis D. Brandeis:

"A single courageous state may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory, and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country."

This of course has been precluded by the extra constitutional mandates of the federal government that forces the states into a conformity that serves the power hungry politicians in Washington rather than allowing free citizens to seek their own solutions.

Subsequent chapters deal with specific issues such as immigration, welfare and environmentalism. Each states the intention of the statist and the violence he does to our constitution to justify such things.

Finally the author sums up the course of action that the conservative must take to regain the government we are meant to have with the freedoms it guarantees. This was the chapter that I found most valuable. The others just reinforced what I already knew. The epilogue lay out a call to action that will take a long term outlook and effort. We did not get here overnight and we will not undo the damage overnight. As the poverb states, a journey of a 100 miles begins with the first step. This book resonates with those who believe in the individual which is why 1000 individuals waited hours to have such an important book signed by its author.

How about dropping the nonsense and bringing the Federal Government back within its constitutional boundaries? That more than anything else would solve our economic woes because ignorant and meddling politicians would be prevented from diminishing our liberties and stealing our wealth.

This nitwit voted for the first bailout bill and for the 90% tax on AIG bonuses. Hardly a conservative. He needs to understand the difference between policy and principle. If he were acting from principle he would not need to do surveys to find out what policies to pursue.

It is this disconnect that from what citizens are trying to tell their representatives that drives me to want to see the whole house of cards come tumbling down. Tea Party Movement Growing

I may be hard to find any news about the Tea Parties that are springing up because the mainstream Media just want to ignore them in hopes they will go away. Today there is a large rally in Orlando Florida. The local news just had to cover it because there were just too many people there to pretend it wasn't happening. Police estimates are a crowd of 3000. One can see pictures of the event here.

We are a sovereign Christian nation with a superb Constitution.

Years ago, an orator reverently placed the Holy Bible on the lectern, saying, "This is for those who believe in God." Then he just as reverently placed on the lectern a copy of the Constitution, saying, "This is for those who respect the law." And then he pulled out a dagger and thrust it into the lectern, hissing, "And this is for the rest!"

Crooked legislators who accepted campaign donations from monster financial institutions they pressured into providing sub-prime loans to prospective voters then distracted the electorate by using the Internal Revenue Service of the Executive Branch to punish American International Group executives by using the Judicial Branch's authority to indict, prosecute and convict 73 United States citizens. So much for separation of powers. And justice.

A World Net Daily article posted on 27 November 2008 reported on a 2001 WBEZ FM radio station interview with Illinois state legislator Barack Hussein Obama. In the interview, Mr Obama said the United States has suffered from a fundamentally flawed Constitution that does not mandate or allow for redistribution of wealth. He said a "redistributive change" is needed, and cited a failure of the Warren court to "break free from the essential constraints" in the United States Constitution and launch a major distribution of wealth. He said the Supreme Court never ventured into the basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. He spoke of the Constitution as a "charter of negative liberties. [sic] Says what the states can't do to you. [sic] Says what the federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf." He mentioned the "tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change."

My Email to Rep Rob Wittman R-VA on the Bailout Bounuses

I am shocked that you would vote to tax the bonuses of the AIG exects. Congress gave to bailout money to the Treasury Dept with NO Stipulations on how the money was to be used. The stimulus bill protected those bonuses. No conservative could possibly justify a tax rate of 90% for any reason. There is ZERO Constitutional authority for such nonsense. I did not contact you about this issue because I thought you were clear thinking. I was sadly mistaken.

Federal Reserve Planting the Seeds of Inflation

The Federal Reserve, or more accurately the government, will be buying 30 year treasury bonds to "promote economic recovery and to preserve price stability,". While this action may get some immediate intended effect the result will be hyper inflation. There is only one way the Fed can purchase these bonds, by printing money. They are printing $1 trillion. All savings are in danger of losing value and the reason for this action, to keep interest rats low, will be thwarted because no sane banker will willingly lend at a low rate when inflation will destroy the value of that loan.

If one wished to dry up the credit market, this is the single best course of action to take. Stacked up on top of the massive deficit spending already in the pipe line and we are quickly heading toward a third world economy.

Obama Plans to Raise Money by Charging Veterans for Medical Care

One has to marvel at the hutspa of this guy. Military Veterans, wounded in service to thier country would have to have private insurance reemburse the VA for continued treatment of service related injuries. These are citizens who were promiced the country they gave their bodies for would cover the cost of their care.

WASHINGTON, March 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The leader of the nation's largest veterans organization says he is "deeply disappointed and concerned" after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.

"It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan," said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. "He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it."

The Commander, clearly angered as he emerged from the session said, "This reimbursement plan would be inconsistent with the mandate ' to care for him who shall have borne the battle' given that the United States government sent members of the armed forces into harm's way, and not private insurance companies. I say again that The American Legion does not and will not support any plan that seeks to bill a veteran for treatment of a service connected disability at the very agency that was created to treat the unique need of America's veterans!"

One should not be shocked, promises to Obama are like toilet paper, use them and toss them.

All this because he wants to raise some cash for some other vote buying scheme. Maybe if he's so hard up he should cancel one of his many parties at the white house such as the St. Patrick's Day - budget bash scheduled for the 17th.

The Oppression of Public Debt

For your edification I present this quote from Thomas Jefferson warning us of the danger of government debt.

We are so there. Everything is taxed. Even the property and homes we own are so heavily taxed one can easily claim we no longer own it but rent from our masters in the form of taxes. They never consider doing with less but only look for more ways to gather more. Even law enforcement is utilized not to make us safe but to extract more of our wealth through fines and fees. We vote for individuals to be our representatives yet they no sooner enter office than they become the agents of government and our adversaries. It is all the more vexing that we are forced to provide the means of our own oppression through the taxes they heap upon us from all directions.

On April 15, 2009 there will be Tea Parties held throughout the nation. Join one and take the first step toward returning our freedom.

At a morning rally in Jacksonville, McCain noted what he called "tremendous turmoil in our financial markets and Wall Street,'' but continued to say he believes the economy is sound -- a line from his stump speech for which Democrats have mocked him.

"Our economy, I think, is still -- the fundamentals of our economy are strong, but these are very, very difficult times,'' McCain said. "I promise you, we will never put America in this position again. We will clean up Wall Street."

Sen. Barack Obama seized on McCain's assessment of the health of the economy, blasting the Republican for being "disturbingly out of touch" with the reality that everyday Americans face.

"I just think he doesn't know," Obama said in Grand Junction, Colo. "He doesn't get what's happening between the mountain in Sedona where he lives and the corridors of Washington where he works.... Why else would he say, today, of all days -- just a few hours ago -- that the fundamentals of the economy are still strong? Senator -- what economy are you talking about?"

Mr. Obama said, "There are a lot of individual families who are experiencing incredible pain and hardship right now."

"But if we are keeping focused on all the fundamentally sound aspects of our economy," he added, "all the outstanding companies, workers, all the innovation and dynamism in this economy, then we're going to get through this. And I'm very confident about that."

Mr. Obama actually came close to using the same language that helped doom the campaign of his Republican opponent, Senator John McCain, who was hammered by Democrats last year for declaring that "the fundamentals of our economy are strong." Recognizing the danger in appearing too upbeat, however, the president and his advisers were careful to warn that recovery could take a long time.

Still, after weeks of emphasizing the dire nature of the economic crisis in order to pressure Congress to act on his proposals, Mr. Obama has lately tried to calibrate the tone to inspire Americans rather than stoke their fears. In fact, Lawrence H. Summers, director of the president's National Economic Council, said in a speech Friday that there was an "excess of fear."

There seems to be no end to the baloney offered up by the President. His say anything approach betrays an incompetence and ignorance that makes one marvel. This next piece of cheap lunch meat just makes one shake the head.

Obama also told business executives that the current economic crisis is no excuse to postpone costly federal investments in health care, energy and other areas.

He said the problems with financial markets are only a part of what threatens the economy. He said the country cannot keep ignoring long-term threats to the nation's prosperity, which he listed as medical costs, the U.S. dependence on oil and an education and fiscal deficit.

While one may agree with "medical costs, the U.S. dependence on oil ... and fiscal deficit" being part of the problem I can for the life of me only wonder how socialized medicine, inefficient alternative energy schemes and deficit spending will solve those problems. As for the education deficit, the destruction of the vouture system in Washington D.C. Would be an indication that Obama is not too keen on what the problem with education is.

It is looking like it's not just me but even his own people are beginning to wonder if Barack is the big O or a big Oh, Oh.

A source close to Mr Obama's top team telephoned this newspaper last week to say that White House officials now regard it as "a mistake" to have returned the bust of Winston Churchill that the British government loaned George W. Bush - a story first reported by The Sunday Telegraph - and then to have sent the prime minister home with a gift of 25 DVDs after his visit to Washington.

So far he has had a radical economic stimulus approved by Congress, but faces accusations that he and his team, who regard themselves as great communicators, have made presentational errors.

The veteran Newsweek political columnist Howard Fineman, previously an enthusiastic cheerleader, delivered a withering verdict under the headline "The Turning Tide", which concluded: "Obama still has the approval of the people, but the establishment is beginning to mumble that the president may not have what it takes."

Camille Paglia, the feminist writer who was early and vocal Obama fan, said: "Heads should be rolling at the White House for the embarrassing series of flubs that have overshadowed President Obama's first seven weeks in office."

She denounced "the fiasco of the ham-handed White House reception for British Prime Minister Gordon Brown" and said that Mr Obama's aides were a "posse of smirky smart alecks and provincial rubes" who seemed like "dazed lost lambs in the brave new world of federal legislation and global statesmanship". Ms Paglia added on Salon.com that Mr Obama "has been ill-served by his advisers and staff."

Nile Gardiner, the foremost conservative expert on the special relationship in Washington, is gunning for the official at the state department who told The Sunday Telegraph last weekend that Britain deserved no special favours and was "just the same as the other 190 countries in the world".

All that experience as a community organizer doesn't look so valuable as he claimed it would be, eh?

Well he can just blame Bush for all the trouble.

Obama's Perfect Storm

This one-party government, led by socialists, some of whom were trained by communists (Think Frank Marshall Davis and Paul Robeson), is rushing to nationalize every conceivable venue of individual liberty and privacy. The Bill of Rights, a pillar of the Constitution, is under special assault. Speed is essential to effecting change before the electorate can discover what is happening. Talk about a new regime hitting the ground running! Deployed government interventionists are ubiquitous.

Following are examples of the leadership's evident goals.

Politicizing the census.

Adopting carbon dioxide "Cap and Trade."

Exercising total weapons control through registration of every weapon in the Attorney General's data base.

Unionizing our entire labor force by mandatory "carding."

Abridgment of freedom of speech on the radio.

Activating a Constitution Convention to re-write that document. (Delegates to the convention will of course all be "Progressives.")

Totally socializing medicine, placing each person's personal data in a national automated data base and allowing bureaucrats, not doctors, to schedule appointments.

Accommodating illegal aliens, Islam's Sharia law, and persecution of Christians.

Annulling individual property rights and business contracts.

Taxing gasoline by the mile instead of the gallon.

Murdering the infirm and the unborn.

Emasculating our under-strength, incompletely structured and disrespected armed forces, underfunded for modernization, repair and maintenance of combat-stressed materiel, underfunded for advanced research and development, and subject to social engineering.

Assuring our creditors in Red China they need not worry about our indebtedness, because our government will exercise its right of eminent domain to seize private assets to satisfy foreign debts.

Deliberately adopting the spend thrift Depression era policies of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, knowing they will exacerbate the crisis.

Deliberate aggravation of the electorate, triggering revolt - and imposition of martial law.

Exacerbating crises and chaos in order to make changes not otherwise achievable.

Beware the cool and flamboyant benevolent dictator! Selfish politicians are pushing our country into quicksand - cruelly water boarding us into conceding that the future is irretrievably desolate. This new administration and the Congress are becoming characterized by deceit, false promises, misleading reports, individual income tax evasion, secrecy, and censorship.

Only an informed electorate totally committed to support and defense of the Constitution can preserve our republic now. The Tenth Amendment should be our touchstone.

Stimulus is Working 25 Down 3499975 to Go

Obama flew to Ohio to read the teleprompter at the graduation of 25 firefighters who got called back when the stimulus money arrived. I would venture that the cost to the taxpayers for his jaunt would compare to the CEOs of the auto companies flying to Washington to talk to Congress but this trip is very important. The stimulus bill brought 25 jobs back! It wll only provide the money for one year, then the local government is on its own to try and figure out how to keep these positions open. Not to worry, Obama willl have more wealth to spread around next year.

I wonder how long it will take him to visit the remaining 3,499,975 people that will get hired because of the stimulus?

When are you who run the RNC going to figure out that we are the OPPOSITION? Stop agreeing with the liberals and call them on their nonsense. When someone suggests our gatherings look like Nazi Germany you call them on it and not let them eat your lunch.

I have been a non Republican for over a decade because the leadership is more willing to dump on the people who stand for what is right within their own party than to stand up to the destructive policies of the left.

Grow some chest hair and fight for what it right. Until you are willing to defend the principles of liberty and the Constitution as the best way for all people to prosper. Until you, like Rush Limbaugh, can call the policies of the President and the Democrats what they are and what they will do to this country. Until you throw out Specter, Snow and Collins I have no confidence that anything in the Republican party has changed and is worth defending.

Climate concerns spur power plant protest

Several thousand people are expected to descend on the Capitol Power Plant (CPP) Monday afternoon to protest its continued use of coal.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who last week requested the plant shift to use the more environmentally-friendly natural gas, is planning to hold a press conference of her own Monday morning in support of discontinuing coal use at the plant.

The protest was organized by environmental groups like Greenpeace and the Rainforest Action Network (RAN) who have battled with lawmakers from coal producing states such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.).

"The more than 2,500 people coming to Washington to call for a solution to the climate crisis and (put) an end to the use of coal are still coming because the climate is still in crisis and coal is still driving that crisis," said Michael Brune, executive director of the RAN.

Don't Feed the Beast

What does government do for us? How many have suffered from frauds and cheats only to find the courts uninterested in helping bring justice. Even if one does hire a lawyer and prevail in court the court does not make them pay. One still has to, at one's own expense, seek to force the criminal to pay up.

Are there gangs in the neighborhood or drug dealers? Don't expect the police to help. They are too busy writing tickets to help bring in more revenue to the government.

Or what about the citizen who defends his home against criminal invasion. Isn't he then exposed to charges also?

Do we own our property? The tax levied against it says no. Try and not pay it and the government will take your property away. We are renting from the government, our land lord.

How many have sent their children to private school or are home schooling because the public schools are either useless or dangerous, yet one still must pay for the public school. One can send one's children to an out of state collage and pay dearly but illegal immigrants get in state discounts.

The hospitals are full of illegal immigrants who don't pay so the hospitals drive up the costs to the citizen who supports those hospitals and clinics with his tax dollars.

All the while government at all levels is going broke while it builds lavish offices, coddles surly bureaucrats, builds stadiums for sports teams whose ticket prices are too high for regular people to afford and the politicians seek new and elaborate means to tax every activity. They are now looking to legalize drugs and prostitution simply to have something new to tax.

There really is only one solution. Stop Feeding the Beast!

Money is the only language government speaks. It is a beast however; when it gets hungry it will get angry if its food is withheld. We must accept that we will suffer if we stop feeding the beast. We will suffer anyway whether we do so or not. If we were to just start with not paying our personal property taxes it would bring government to its knees. There is no level of government that is not bankrupt. If local government is choked out the others will falter. If local government is beaten people will be emboldened to take on the rest.

We all gathered a Lafayette park in Washington D.C. There were speeches and chants of "I'm as mad as Hell!"

Don't Feed the Beast!

Michell Malkin is busy trying to blog while everyone is trying to get their picture taken with her. She has lots of other photos.

The crowd was no huge but when they sang the National Anthem it was touching.

The signs were home made and very expressive.

I really liked this family. They were pretty typical of the sort of people who were there.

It was short and sweet. The key to success is for everyone there to now go and bring the message to the politicians in a manner that gets their attention. I favor some form of tar and feathering or throwing rotten vegetables.

Reportedly, our one-party government comprising the congress and the administration, having taken giant steps toward the destruction of our economy with massive giveaway, vote-grabbing, spending programs, both foreign (Gaza) and domestic, sometimes euphemistically labeled "stimulus" efforts, now uses that spending as an excuse to emasculate our soldiers with immediate defense budget cuts.

Typically, these soldiers are devoted to the Constitution and highly skilled in what they do. Under-strength, they serve repetitive tours in combat zones in the everlasting World War against fundamental Islamists while their families soldier on without them. Equipment damaged and destroyed in combat needs repair and replacement. Advanced materiel, and ever more sophisticated weapons systems research and development are desperately needed as Iran perfects its nuclear capability. We do need to man, equip and train a separate conventional-war-fighting armed forces group to cope with the threats from Red China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.

To think of cutting instead of increasing defense funds at this time is not only callous and dis-respectful toward our soldiers but also Treasonous.

To paraphrase Jeremiah Wright, who cursed America, SHAME on you, Nancy Pelosi, SHAME on you Barney Frank, SHAME on you, Harry Reid, SHAME on you, Hillary Clinton and SHAME on you, Barack Obama.

Now is the time to beat plowshares into swords - to gear up a massive, forward-looking defense industry employing high-tech labor - vice make-work highway projects with unskilled workers leaning on shovels, like FDR's Work Projects Administation and Public Works Administration "workers" during the Depression

Duty-dodgers just give speeches. Soldiers serve.

Obama assures Harper on 'buy American' provision of stimulus

President Barack Obama on Thursday moved to reassure business and trade partners that the "buy American" provision of the economic stimulus package will not further harm the economy...

... Initially, the stimulus bill required that infrastructure projects funded by the legislation could only use U.S.-manufactured materials, such as steel and iron.

The provision was later modified to say that such procurement must conform with existing trade pacts, a concession allowing trade partners such as Canada, Japan, Mexico and others to benefit from U.S. public works spending....

... Daniella Markheim, a trade policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation, said several large countries including Brazil and China do not have government procurement deals with the United States and would be locked out — and could retaliate with tougher protectionist policies of their own.

In the worst-case scenario, Markheim said, "The U.S. could be committing to buy American while the rest of the world is committing to 'don't buy American.' "

While he is begging foreign governments to fiance our debt, Obama wants to stiff them on trade, just as he did the city of Chicago with the bill for his election night party.

This bunch are riding us down the road to ruin.

White House Laughs at Santelli

The President appears to think Rick Santelli is some kind of laughing stock, as he also does you and I.

At the presidential press briefing today, press secretary Robert Gibbs eagerly responded to a reporter's question about Rick Santelli's rant amid sympathetic, angry traders at the CME Group in Chicago.

"I've watched Mr. Santelli on cable the past 24 hours or so," Gibbs said, according to an account by the newssite Politico. "I'm not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives or in what house he lives, but the American people are struggling every day to meet their mortgages, stay in their jobs, pay their bills, send their kids to school.

"I think we left a few months ago the adage that if it was good for a derivatives trader that it was good for Main Street," the White House spokesman continued. "I think the verdict is in on that."

Gibbs contended Santelli "has argued, I think quite wrongly, that this plan won't help everyone."

"This plan helps people who have been playing by the rules. ... I would encourage him to read the president's plan. ... I'd be more than happy to have him come here to read it. I'd be happy to buy him a cup of coffee – decaf," Gibbs said.

News flash for Obama, nobody outside of Washington is laughing.

Not the Best PR Move

Muzzammil Hassan started Bridges TV in 2004 to help dispel the notion that Islam inspired violence.

"Every day on television we are barraged by stories of a 'Muslim extremist, militant, terrorist, or insurgent,'" Hassan said in the 2004 release. "But the stories that are missing are the countless stories of Muslim tolerance, progress, diversity, service and excellence that Bridges TV hopes to tell."

Last Thursday, February 12, 2009, Mr. Hassan called police to inform them that is wife was in his office and she was dead. When police arrived they found Mrs. Hassan had died from decapitation.

DiPirro said the couple had "physical confrontations off and on" for their entire eight-year marriage that had recently escalated to death threats. The grounds for divorce were "cruel and inhuman treatment," DiPirro said, referring to mulitple prior incidents of abuse. She declined to elaborate.

"We were worried about the situation becoming volatile," DiPirro said.

How Mr. Hassan will continue to help fight stereotypes of Muslims as violent killers will be interesting.

As is often the case with domestic violence issues, the victim takes out an order of protection or as it is sometimes referred to, a restraining order or peace bond. These pieces of paper are as helpful in preventing violence as a cease fire agreement is in preventing missile attacks against Israel. In both cases one is better off arming one's self and dealing directly with the problem when it presents itself.

My Email to Michael Steele

I joined the Republican Party about 1989. As a member of the Prince William County Committee I became a Magisterial District Chairman. By 1996 I had had enough. There was no party discipline. RINOs were becoming the driving force within the party taking every opportunity to accommodate the Democrats but worse, stab elected conservative Republicans in the back. I was not one bit surprised when after gaining both houses of Congress that the members began spending like Democrats.

Today there is an opportunity for the Party to regain its stature. Three RINOs in the Senate have proved their interests to be for their own future rather than our nation's or the party's. So long as Spector, Snow and Collins remain in the party I will continue to not support it. Throw these people out of the party and I will once more become an active member. Let them stay and I will sit by and let the party disappear as the Whigs did before it. We are suffering the tyranny of the Democrats because the Republican Party failed to stand united behind its principles. I have no use for such and organization that continues to let members choose self interest over our nation's best interest.

Recently the Republican Members of the Tennessee Legislature through out a member who had gained a leadership position by courting the Democrats. I commend them for this. I hope the national party has the strength to do the same with these three senators.

The current U.S. economic crisis presents opportunities to do things not normally possible - as the president's chief of staff has said about all national crises. Inspired by San Francisco socialists, Chicago shady characters, tax cheats and a complicit media, the administration and the congress intend to take us down the old, destructive, wild-spending path of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, instead of the proven, recession-busting, tax-cutting ways of John F Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.

Not only are the social Democrats about to spend us into oblivion, thus weakening us to the point of irrelevance as a world power; but, they also aim to cut our defense budget by ten percent or more and pull our troops out of Iraq.

Are the socialists stupid? Ignorant? How could they possibly ignore that the three thousand people and the world-class buildings in which they were working were suddenly vaporized without warning? And, surely it is common knowledge in the halls of power that we have thousands of tons of damaged and destroyed war materiel in need of repair and replacement, and a huge, un-addressed, conventional war threat facing us from Red China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.

Our socialist globalists have it in their power to reduce this nation to economic and military mediocrity; and that is exactly what they are poised to do. Our free republic nationalists must not let this happen.

We need to stop all the bail-outs in their tracks. We need to declare immediately a moratorium of at least six months on FICA and federal income tax. And we need an industrial surge to rebuild our shattered counterinsurgency military forces, and organize, man, equip and train an overpowering conventional warfare force.

The tax cuts and defense industry expansion would solve our economic problem while deterring the national security threats. And the craven, power-hungry socialists who would fraudulently foist an irrelevant so-called "stimulus" plan down our throats would be kicked out of government at the next election.

1:11 Washington is really slow getting the news on this one. Even the CBO has said this bill will make the recession worse over the long term. The economic recovery plan that came out of the House is very Different from the one that is in the Senate, so which one is he talking about?

1:23 If this economy will fall $1 Trillion short, how does spending $1 Trillion get us anywhere. Aren't we ending up in the same place? Even the White House has said there is a 30% chance this plan will not work. Why not break this thing into its component parts and debate the value of each part separately?

!:43 Who decided this is what Americans need to do?

1:48 Seems he has dropped the claim he will create 3 million jobs and now just wants to save or create that many. The math is still not encouraging, $800 billion divided by 3 million is $270,000 per job saved or created!

2:18 How does training an army of science teachers do anything about our current economy? How many years will it take to train the teachers who will then teach the children who will then graduate from school and go out and find jobs?

2:25 Again, how long will building out the electric grid take before anyone sees any benefit. If as he says we need to address this crisis now, why is he talking about stuff that will take years to realize any effect in the economy?

2:33 Doubling our capacity to produce renewable energy before the technology exists? More pie in the sky by and by that has no effect on our current situation.

2:39 Fighting the battles of the past while ignoring a current crisis in Kentucky where people have been living without electric power for weeks.

2:48 Handing out checks didn't help New Orleans recover any more than it will the nation. The reality is they must take the money away first before they can give is back while most of it disappears in the process.

3:23 Serving? More like sticking it to the next couple of generations. They are the one's who ultimately will pay this bill.

Sen. Webb Bemoans Wealth Gap While Attending Luxury Reteat

The Democrats spent $100,000 of taxpayer money to attend a retreat in Williasburg, Va. While in attendance, Virginia Senator Jim Webb went to a ceremony celebrating the founding of the College of William and Mary, where he received an honorary doctor of public service degree. There he called for his colleagues to do something about the gap between the rich and poor.

The irony of doing so at such an event has escaped the Senator.

Sen. Warner's Reply to My Email on the Stimulus Vote.

Thank you for contacting me with your views on the economic stimulus
package. In order to best represent you as your United States Senator,
it is vital that I hear your view on this and other important matters.

We have received a large volume of correspondence from across the
Commonwealth both in favor and opposed to the stimulus. I certainly
understand concerns about the size and scope of the bill and about
certain provisions included in the package, especially in light of how
poorly the first half of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) has
been administered. In the Senate, I will continue to work with the new
Administration on the expenditure of the second half of TARP to ensure
more accountability and transparency so that Virginians know exactly how
this money is being utilized.

While he says that my input as a constituent is vital, he prefers to drink the Obama Kool Aid. As for transparency, Fox News has had to sue to get any information on how the first mountain of TARP money was dispensed.

In regards to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, although no
effort on this scale will be perfect, President Obama and the relevant
Congressional committees have been in close consultation with state and
local officials and a wide range of economic experts to develop an
approach which represents a prudent and effective path to economic
recovery. As a newly-elected Senator, I have come to this process late
in the game, but I am working to make certain that these funds are
directly targeted to job creation and "shovel ready" initiatives. To do
nothing in the face of this economic crisis could lead to catastrophic
consequences for small businesses and working families across the
country.

Pork projects look best to Sen. Warner. It seems he thinks what's best for government is best for America. The "As a newly-elected Senator," line doesn't fly. He sought one of the highest offices in the nation and now wants to cry inexperiance? To do something stupid rather than nothing would be infinitely more destructive.He was going to bring his business experience to the Senate to deal with such problems yet he has chosen to deffer to the Status Que.

The committees drafting the legislation have provided for unprecedented
oversight, accountability and transparency in the measure so that
taxpayers' money is handled carefully and used in the most efficient and
effective manner possible. You should know that a Recovery Act and
Transparency Board will oversee the disbursement of the funds and a
website provided by the White House, www.recovery.gov
, will post detailed information about
recovery spending.

In light of the afore mentioned lawsuit and the lack of any public review of the SCHIP law that got shoved down our throats, I doubt these boards will be anything more than more Kool Aid drinking Obamatons

Congress, please continue to be in touch with your opinions and

Bipartisanship

This very young administration assisted by radical congressional leaders and the media, has already begun polarizing our citizens into two groups: Socialist Democrats and Free Republicans. Concomitantly, new definitions of bipartisanship have ensued.

The Republican definition is when representatives of both parties work together to craft solutions to problems.

The Democrat definition is when representatives of both parties endorse the Democrat solutions.

Our Socialists are trying to make Republicans complicit with the socalled "Stimulus" plan which is in fact an illegal socialist power grab. But, we must keep our heads and not be panicked by the current economic crisis into the nationalization of our commercial base. We must not be stampeded into following the failed economic policies of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and contemporary Japan.

We should take another look at our Constitution - the Tenth Amendment, for example, which says, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Perhaps this resolution in the New Hampshire Legislature could be a guide to all state legislatures.

That any Act by the Congress of the United States, Executive Order of the President of the United States of America or Judicial Order by the Judicatories of the United States of America which assumes a power not delegated to the government of United States of America by the Constitution for the United States of America and which serves to diminish the liberty of the any of the several States or their citizens shall constitute a nullification of the Constitution for the United States of America by the government of the United States of America. Acts which would cause such a nullification include, but are not limited to:

I. Establishing martial law or a state of emergency within one of the States comprising the United States of America without the consent of the legislature of that State.

II. Requiring involuntary servitude, or governmental service other than a draft during a declared war, or pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law.

III. Requiring involuntary servitude or governmental service of persons under the age of 18 other than pursuant to, or as an alternative to, incarceration after due process of law.

IV. Surrendering any power delegated or not delegated to any corporation or foreign government.

V. Any act regarding religion; further limitations on freedom of political speech; or further limitations on freedom of the press.

VI. Further infringements on the right to keep and bear arms including prohibitions of type or quantity of arms or ammunition; and

That should any such act of Congress become law or Executive Order or Judicial Order be put into force, all powers previously delegated to the United States of America by the Constitution for the United States shall revert to the several States individually. Any future government of the United States of America shall require ratification of three quarters of the States seeking to form a government of the United States of America and shall not be binding upon any State not seeking to form such a government...

Obama Claims We Will Never Recover

It is now official. The stimulus plan is a pack of bologna. The reason I can say this is Obama has just declared the sky will fall if Congress does not pass it.

"This recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse," Obama wrote in the newspaper piece titled, "The Action Americans Need."

Just as the Global Warming nitwits call for immediate action as the weather gets colder, Obama is pulling the chicken little routine with the most improbable of claims, that we will NEVER recover if we don't have HIS plan. It is often a sure sign that any situation has peaked when the "experts" are all claiming that the situation, whether good or bad, will continue forever. The most reliable statement that signals the end of a trend is "It is different this time." They said it when the internet stocks and the real estate markets were hot and they're saying it about this recession. Both those markets crashed because the rules of economics don't change, just as this recession will end as all others have unless the politicians do as they did in the 1930's and try and fix it because "it's different this time."

Rest assured. The worst is probably here and we can look for relief soon, unless the politicians continue to throw fuel on the fire with their "solutions."

Virginia Senators on Both Sides of the Stimulus Plan

Typical politicians, both Virginia Senators, Jim Webb and Mark Warner Made statements saying they had reservations about the stimulus plan but both voted to add pork for Virginia to the bill.

Webb has "substantive concerns" about "projects that, while important, are not overtly 'stimulative,'" said Jessica Smith, Webb's spokeswoman.

Warner said he wanted to see the stimulus bill focus more on job creation and sought assurances the spending was short term.

So...

Sens. Jim Webb and Mark Warner, both Virginia Democrats, both voted Tuesday to add $25 billion in infrastructure spending to an $885 billion economic stimulus bill being debated in the Senate.

What good are these people? Their only reservations seem to be that there are no enough vote buying funds for them to throw around their own state.

Warner, Virginia's freshman senator, encouraged swift action on the stimulus late Monday, particularly highlighting the need for road and bridge spending. Virginia stands to receive $918 million for transit, highway and water projects under the current package, according to Senate Appropriations Committee staff.

$918 million was not good enough so they wanted to tack on another $25 BILLION.

The Honest Politician's Party

While it may seem that there is little opportunity to prosper in the future I don't want anyone to overlook the most dynamic sector in our economy. Now that the politicians have wrecked the economy the only growth industry we are left with is government. It's time for everyone to get on board the gravy train and run for office. It is for that reason I am announcing the formation of the Honest Politician's Party.

In this party there will be no more lying and covering up the reality of politics. All politicians have charitable foundations, political action committees and other nonprofit organizations that they run. They also have numerous agencies such as Fanny Mae and Freedy Mac were they can park their campaign staff and useless in-laws at taxpayer's expense. The irritating part about that it they pretend that these are not schemes for their own enrichment. Here in the Honest Politician's Party" we drop all pretense and openly admit they the object of our effort to be elected is to enhance our own wealth. Our motto is "An honest politician is one who stays bought."

Working for the largest contributor has always been the way things have been done so why not let people know that so they can buy the access they need. So much time and effort is waited by ordinary people by going through channels and dealing with bureaucrats just to see the politically connected waltz away scott free. The only reason politicians spout nonsense about upholding principles of justice and the rule of law because they want people to believe their government is working for the citizen. It's all bologna. The government is there to see to it that politicians and their families get rich. Here at the "Honest Politician's Party" we want to change that. We are willing to give everyone a chance to know they have a politician they can count on by making it simple. You get what you pay for. Even better we want as many people to run for office as we can who will drop the pretense and say it like it is. We are here to get rich and you can too.

This is why we advocate term limits. It doesn't take all that long to suck up tax money and political contributions so grab the cash and then move out so someone new can get rich of the public trough. The "Honest Politicians Party" envisions a country were everyone has a foundation or nonprofit organization to bleed for theirs and their families our benefit not to mention the pork barrel projects that keep the money flowing to the smaller contributors who actually work for a living.

Victory in Iraq

Over at Zombietime is a list of bloggers who are acknowledging that the US has achieved victory in Iraq. Inspite of the efforts of the Democrats we have prevailed. I understand why Obama wanted to have the Iraqi government delay until after the transition any agreement such as the one recently made. It would have allowed him to claim victory rather that accept that we have already achieved it.

Rather that wait for the media to grudgingly announce victory, which it will never do, I wish to join with my fellow bloggers and celebrate today, November 22, 2008 as:

"THE WAR IS OVER AND WE WON:" Michael Yon just phoned from Baghdad, and reports that things are much better than he had expected, and he had expected things to be good. "There's nothing going on. I'm with the 10th Mountain Division, and about half of the guys I'm with haven't fired their weapons on this tour and they've been here eight months. And the place we're at, South Baghdad, used to be one of the worst places in Iraq. And now there's nothing going on. I've been walking my feet off and haven't seen anything. I've been asking Iraqis, 'do you think the violence will kick up again,' but even the Iraqi journalists are sounding optimistic now and they're usually dour." There's a little bit of violence here and there, but nothing that's a threat to the general situation. Plus, not only the Iraqi Army, but even the National Police are well thought of by the populace. Training from U.S. toops has paid off, he says, in building a rapport.

He thinks that Obama will be able to pull troops out, and send some to Afghanistan, without creating problems in Iraq. Michael will be reporting from Afghanistan soon, and sending back video, so stay tuned. Things aren't going swimmingly there...

UN to Stop the Somali Pirates

I first wrote about the Somali Pirates three years ago. It seemed like an odd situation that would be handled quickly, except that America was busy. The UN and other international organizations applied the same remedies to this problem that they have to all others, they let it fester while making it impossible for the victims to protect themselves.

Arming the merchant ships makes too much sense. Like the politicians here who try to disarm the law abiding citizens because they want to address the rising crime rate, the international nitwits will not allow merchants to enter ports armed. So they are left to deal with pirates with RPGs armed with only a shotgun and pistol. What harm would it do to allow merchants to mount a rotary cannon on the bridge? Cut a few pirate boats in two and let the sharks clean up the mess and the pirates will go back to robbing farmers like they were last year. Since nothing has been done to stop them every one with a boat and five friends with automatic weapons has become a pirate.

Don't despair. The UN Security Council is coming to the rescue.

The United Nations Security Council voted unanimously Thursday to impose new sanctions meant to reduce the flow of arms into Somalia and the lawlessness and piracy that have flourished there.

How incredibly clueless are these people? Somalia is a stinking whole and their only solution is sanctions? It is a wonder that the Troglodytes of this world have not yet taken over.

I'm thinking that to make it in this world I'll either get a ship loaded with 20 mm cannons and a sign that says "For Rent" and sit out in the Indian Ocean or buy a parrot and an eye patch.

What am I doing now, then, in lieu of respectfully joining the celebration? The same thing I've been doing for some time now: thinking.

* I'm thinking about the war in which we are engaged.
* I'm thinking about the financial crisis, and quite frankly I'm thinking about the men who caused a sharp recession to sink into the Great Depression.
* I'm thinking about Supreme Court justices who I believe will, for the rest of their lives, do violence to my fellow Americans' liberties.
* I'm thinking about taxes, and what they'll do to members of my family.
* I'm thinking about all the Democrats who have insisted that the greater their advantage in power over Republicans, the more they will reach across the aisle, so to speak.
* I'm thinking about how to perform a holding action against a Democrat-dominated government.
* I'm thinking about entitlements (including refundable tax credits) that will create their own constituencies of dependents, and become stubbornly entrenched.
* I'm thinking about the other legislative "positive feedback loops" that the Democrats may pass now, rubber-stamping one after the other, to shift the political landscape itself in their favor.
* I'm thinking of the movement we must build to overcome those feedback loops, and to minimize and perhaps reverse this damage.

I also wonder as he does what the masses will be doing when they find the expectations of the campaign are a far cry from the delivered results. Of course any problems will be blamed on the Republicans no matter how much time elapses.

January, 2008 in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Sen. Obama was explaining his cap and trade plan. He told the interviewer:

"Let me sort of describe my overall policy.

What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."

The paper of course did not mention in it's article that he said this. Good-by jobs in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado and Indiana.

There is a new monument in Washington, D.C. It is a memorial to the victims of communism. We are today generating new victims to be so memorialized.

The essence of both communism and socialism is the transfer of wealth. Our government is doing that today, whether we the people like it or not.

People here in the United States and around the world are suffering because power-hungry Democrats in our Congress like Senator Christopher Dodd, Representative Barney Frank and others looking for votes pressured real estate and financial institutions to transfer ownership of houses to people who could not afford to buy. Also today, the Democrat Congress closely controls the production of wealth in the domestic oil industry. The result is a tremendous degradation of our economy and higher prices all across the board, here and abroad. These are classic examples of how socialist governments destroy themselves.

More importantly, totalitarian communism lurks on our own shores. When a plumber recently asked presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama why Obama planned to raise his taxes, leftist Obama told him it was because the plumber should spread his wealth to others. And then the plumber was punished by Obama-leaning media representatives who visited the man in his neighborhood and demanded information on his business credentials, operations and taxes. They even informed the world that the plumber had no certification to perform plumbing procedures (which at his level of activity required no certificate). - And this in support of a presidential candidate who cannot produce a certified record of his own birth to establish eligibility for candidacy.

The moment of truth is upon us. On November 4th shall we vote to preserve the Constitution or to be the United Socialist States of America?

Virginia Vote Fraud Continues

The Democrats in Virginia as in other states are dismissing any claims of fraud in voter registration as "a few isolated incidents of problems." Yet as more scrutiny is applied we see a real problem emerging and it is all in support of the Democrats.

Carroo said it was Community Voters Project that noticed the questionable paperwork in Hampton, fired the workers and alerted the registrar there.

In Norfolk, however, the registrar identified problems with hundreds of applications and referred some of that paperwork from eight to 10 canvassers to law enforcement authorities.

General Registrar Elisa Long said some of the irregularities spotted included multiple applications under a single name, duplicate personal information, applications taken over the phone, and applications filled out and signed by someone other than the named registrant.

"We had several national groups in Norfolk doing voter registration and we had no problem with any of the other groups that don't work on a quota system," Long said.

Official Vote Fraud Continues in Ohio

If it was not apparent that Democratic Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner was actively helping voter fraud efforts in her state, her sending the Attorney General to appeal to the US Supreme Court to relieve her of a Tuesday decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit should remove any doubt. All the Sixth Circuit demanded of her was that she do her job. The problem for her is that would result in a loss of many of the fraudulent voter registrations that have been dumped on the state by Obama supporters.

The Sixth Circuit on Tuesday had directed Brunner to give local elections officials ready and direct access by Friday to computerized lists of new voters whose registrations do not match state driver records or Social Security information. A 2002 federal law required states to create a statewide database of voter registration information and to verify new voter information by crossmatching it with the other public records.

Ohio counties do not have an easy way to view their mismatches in the current system, court testimony had shown.

Brunner had said adapting Ohio's voter registration system to accomplish that change would require a few days of work on software programming at a time when a surge of voter registrations also are arriving.

What is this person in office to do? It is stunning that she would go to the Supreme Court to ask that she not have to do a few days work to secure the integrity of the vote in Ohio. How hypocritical for one who holds a Profile in Courage award for her work on election integrity coupled with her law practice focusing on the same.

She needs to be removed from office if she won't do her job.

Update: 10:05 am As I was posting this it has come over the news that there are 200,000 disputed registrations in Ohio.Ms. Brunner needs to get off her but and get to work.

NEW YORK –Sen. Barack Obama, with a donation of nearly $1 million, and a son of Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi were among the biggest contributors to the presidential campaign of controversial Kenyan leader Raila Odinga, according to an internal document obtained by WND.

The memo was prepared by the head of Odinga's campaign finance accounting section, Shakeel Shabbir, as an official report delivered to the national treasurer for Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement party, or ODM.

Among the 72 individuals and organizations that contributed money to Odinga's 2007 presidential run in Kenya, Shabbir lists "Friends of Senator B.O." as having donated 66,000,000 Kenyan schillings, about $950,000.

Saif el-Islam Gadhafi, the Libyan strongman's second oldest son, reportedly donated 53,450,000 Kenyan schillings, about $765,000.

According to several highly credible ex-ODM sources WND interviewed in Kenya, the $950,000 raised for Odinga's campaign came from a series of private meetings arranged for Odinga by Mark Lippert, a foreign policy adviser in Obama's U.S. Senate office. The meetings with top-dollar Obama fundraisers and donors took place during Odinga's 2006 trip to the U.S.

Obama still supported Odinga while that politician was using violence to overturn the election.

In the final days of the New Hampshire Democratic Party primary, while the post-election violence was still raging in Kenya, Obama told reporters from the BBC he continued to maintain contact with Odinga in Kenya by cell phone.

Obama goes to Kenya, gives a politician $1 million, but not a nickel to his brother and grandmother who live there in poverty. What a guy.

Last week I went to the recently-opened Republican party office on Main Street here in Warrenton and made the suggestion that the Republican National Committee broadcast on national television Barack Obama's biography and current activities to include, for example, his formation of lifetime friendships and associations with bomb-throwers and communists. I asserted that our electorate are ignorant of this information, and will remain so due to censorship imposed by the major liberal media and by Senator McCain

The only way this information will reach the electorate is in video, i.e., television because, by and large, Americans get their news and views from television, not newspapers or talk radio.

The response to my suggestion was that the Republican National Committee will not broadcast Barack's bio, lest they offend the big "undecided" group of potential voters, who say they are tired of "negative" political messages.

If we put a communist in the White House because the electorate don''t know that's what he is, John McCain will be personally responsible for that sad outcome.

Senate Bailout Plan

Having their heads handed to them in the House, the politicians now are trying to ram this thing through the Senate. Originality not being the strong suit in Congress they have stuffed some tax cut goodies in to buy us off. Problem with that idea is anyone who is paying attention knows those tax cuts have a shelf life of about 35 days, or to be specific, until after the election. There is no way they are going to do this without picking our pockets. Sure they are predicting doom if this fails but doom is coming anyway. We are better off dealing with it without first having the additional burden of this bailout hoisted on our shoulders.

The tax plan passed the Senate last week on a 93-2 vote. It included AMT relief, $8 billion in tax relief for those hit by natural disasters in the Midwest, Texas and Louisiana, and some $78 billion in renewable energy incentives and extensions of expiring tax breaks. All told, it would cost about $112 billion over five years.

Convoluted as this is,why not just do this and not shovel the $700 Billion into the rat hole? As I said above, They want the money and they can ditch the tax stuff after November 5th.

The Bailout Fails for Now

Congress seems bound and determined to become mortgage bankers. All in the name if fixing the financial crisis yet the experts are all saying that they are not sure if it will work but they think it will "calm" the credit markets. $770 Billion is a very hefty bet that this bailout will work. Heftier when it's our money they are betting with. So what happens if they do nothing or wait to find a better way to deal with it that doesn't risk taxpayers money? They claim we will all be doomed. If that were the case than they sure have spent plenty of time packing pork into the bill, failing that calling each other names and storming off for a holiday?

I know that I will have to take on some unpleasantness because of the economic problem the liberals have gotten us into. I can handle whatever comes along. I would prefer to do it without the government picking my pocket first.

I know they are not done trying to stick it to us but I'll not stand by and let it happen without a fight. It is for keeps this time. If they prevail we will become chattel to the government.

Official Vote Fraud in Ohio

Cincinnati.Com's Peter Bronson reports that Secretary of State of Ohio, Jennifer Brunner who won her position on the issue of voting irregularities is now actively trying to suppress votes for McCain.

Two Hamilton County voters have sued, accusing her of "the disenfranchisement of thousands of voters."

The John McCain campaign sent out more than 1 million applications for absentee ballots to Republicans. Each had a line at the top next to a box: "I am a qualified elector."

Brunner sent a memo telling county election officials to reject those applications for absentee ballots if the box was not checked. "Failure to check the box leaves both the applicant and the board of elections without verification that the applicant is a 'qualified elector'," she wrote.

But that's contrary to state law and Brunner doesn't have the authority, according to the lawsuit and an opinion from Hamilton County's Republican Prosecutor Joe Deters.

Ohio law allows voters to request an absentee ballot on the back of a grocery sack if they want to, as long as they include their name, address, date of birth, signature and either a driver's license number, last four Social Security numbers or a valid picture I.D.

There is nothing in the law about checking a box to verify a qualified voter. The voter's signature is enough, because that's what is checked to send ballots, said Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Greg Hartmann, who ran against Brunner in 2006 and is now county chairman for the McCain-Palin campaign. "It's just bald partisanship," he said. "She's trying to disqualify likely McCain voters."

Brunner's defense,

"While state law does not require a check box, the McCain-Palin campaign designed its form to require that voters check a box to affirmatively state they are qualified electors."

Yet she claims she is just looking out of the system.

Brunner's web site says she "wants to ensure that Ohio elections are free, fair, open and honest; and to encourage the highest level of participation in our democracy."

Unless of course if those votes are Republicans.

She is being tough on the people with applications from the McCain campaign but she is liberal on letting just about anybody else get in to vote. So much so that the law requiring a person to be a resident for 30 days before being eligible to vote is being interpreted to only apply to the period before election day and not to the period of early voting by absentee ballot.

The "no-fault absentee" voting law has been in place since 2005, when it was passed by the Republican-controlled General Assembly and signed by GOP Gov. Bob Taft.

The law allows absentee voting, for any reason, to begin 35 days before an election. Another law on the books for several years closes voter registration 30 days before Election Day.

That leaves a five-day period during which people can register and immediately vote absentee. In Franklin County, about 60 did so for the 2006 general election, with no recorded complaints.

But the registration/voting window suddenly has become an issue this year because Democrats have announced a get-out-the-vote campaign to capitalize on the opportunity.

Kevin DeWine, a state representative and deputy chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, argues that Brunner's interpretation creates "an illegal loophole in the state law to advance same-day registration and voting ... which was never a consideration when the General Assembly passed the law."

DeWine said Brunner's "troubling partisan agenda" violates elections law that requires voters to have lived in a precinct at least 30 days before they are qualified to vote.

"This has nothing to do with denying people access to the ballot," he added. "The issue is about whether or not safeguards are in place."

Perhaps we who are veterans of Democrat Franklin Roosevelt's World War II, Harry Truman's Korean War and Lyndon Johnson's Vietnam War are among those Barack Obama wants to argue with the Republicans and Independents - to "get in their face." If so, we can do that, but we need help from the Democrat party leadership.

We need the Democratic National Committee to explain to us how our "opponents" are lying when they say the senator received more political monetary contributions from "Fannie Mae" and "Freddie Mac" than any other politician except the chief of the senate banking and housing committee, Christopher Dodd.

The DNC must tell us what to say when our "adversaries" claim Barack is a communist whose close and durable relationships with communists and bomb throwers like William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and Frank Marshall Davis helped mould his political leanings. Should we assert Obama is not a communist when his every proposal for new legislation calls for transfer of wealth and nationalization of industrial production?

The DNC must tell us how we should explain Barry Hussein's "post-national" stance - why he asserts he is a "citizen of the world," and is reluctant to demonstrate any affinity for the Flag of The United States. Is he simply a man without a country?

Cliff Kincaid, Jerome Corsi, David Freddoso and others have documented their critical information on Barack Obama. (See "Special Report on Barack Obama," "The Obama Nation," and "The Case Against Barack Obama.") When will the DNC provide specific refutations of published assertions?

Absentee ballots are already being cast. The only way this urgently needed information will reach the electorate in the few weeks remaining is in video; e.g., television. By and large, we get our news and views from television, not talk radio. Getting in the faces of adversaries on the street is useless if we don't have supporting facts to articulate.

Palin's Speech at the UN Protest

Hillary Clinton, true to form, skipped out on a protest of Iranian President Ahmadinejad's appearance at the UN because her self interest trumps any National interest. She was afraid her speech would be overshadowed by Gov. Palin's. Like a school girl Hillary ran and hid then let her surrogates complain and press to have Gov. Palin removed also. It's the old "If I can't be prom queen than she can't either!" pettiness that so becomes a world leader wantabe.

For those of you who may be curious I am printing the text of the speech that Gov. Palin would have given had Hillary and the Democrats hadn't gotten their panties in a snit.

I am honored to be with you and with leaders from across this great country — leaders from different faiths and political parties united in a single voice of outrage.

Tomorrow, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will come to New York — to the heart of what he calls the Great Satan — and speak freely in this, a country whose demise he has called for.

Ahmadinejad may choose his words carefully, but underneath all of the rhetoric is an agenda that threatens all who seek a safer and freer world. We gather here today to highlight the Iranian dictator's intentions and to call for action to thwart him.

He must be stopped.

The world must awake to the threat this man poses to all of us. Ahmadinejad denies that the Holocaust ever took place. He dreams of being an agent in a "Final Solution" — the elimination of the Jewish people. He has called Israel a "stinking corpse" that is "on its way to annihilation." Such talk cannot be dismissed as the ravings of a madman — not when Iran just this summer tested long-range Shahab-3 missiles capable of striking Tel Aviv, not when the Iranian nuclear program is nearing completion, and not when Iran sponsors terrorists that threaten and kill innocent people around the world.

The Iranian government wants nuclear weapons. The International Atomic Energy Agency reports that Iran is running at least 3,800 centrifuges and that its uranium enrichment capacity is rapidly improving. According to news reports, U.S. intelligence agencies believe the Iranians may have enough nuclear material to produce a bomb within a year.

The world has condemned these activities. The United Nations Security Council has demanded that Iran suspend its illegal nuclear enrichment activities. It has levied three rounds of sanctions. How has Ahmadinejad responded? With the declaration that the "Iranian nation would not retreat one iota" from its nuclear program.

So, what should we do about this growing threat? First, we must succeed in Iraq. If we fail there, it will jeopardize the democracy the Iraqis have worked so hard to build, and empower the extremists in neighboring Iran. Iran has armed and trained terrorists who have killed our soldiers in Iraq, and it is Iran that would benefit from an American defeat in Iraq.

If we retreat without leaving a stable Iraq, Iran's nuclear ambitions will be bolstered. If Iran acquires nuclear weapons — they could share them tomorrow with the terrorists they finance, arm, and train today. Iranian nuclear weapons would set off a dangerous regional nuclear arms race that would make all of us less safe.

But Iran is not only a regional threat; it threatens the entire world. It is the no. 1 state sponsor of terrorism. It sponsors the world's most vicious terrorist groups, Hamas and Hezbollah. Together, Iran and its terrorists are responsible for the deaths of Americans in Lebanon in the 1980s, in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s, and in Iraq today. They have murdered Iraqis, Lebanese, Palestinians, and other Muslims who have resisted Iran's desire to dominate the region. They have persecuted countless people simply because they are Jewish.

Iran is responsible for attacks not only on Israelis, but on Jews living as far away as Argentina. Anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial are part of Iran's official ideology and murder is part of its official policy. Not even Iranian citizens are safe from their government's threat to those who want to live, work, and worship in peace. Politically-motivated abductions, torture, death by stoning, flogging, and amputations are just some of its state-sanctioned punishments.

It is said that the measure of a country is the treatment of its most vulnerable citizens. By that standard, the Iranian government is both oppressive and barbaric. Under Ahmadinejad's rule, Iranian women are some of the most vulnerable citizens.

If an Iranian woman shows too much hair in public, she risks being beaten or killed.

If she walks down a public street in clothing that violates the state dress code, she could be arrested.

But in the face of this harsh regime, the Iranian women have shown courage. Despite threats to their lives and their families, Iranian women have sought better treatment through the "One Million Signatures Campaign Demanding Changes to Discriminatory Laws." The authorities have reacted with predictable barbarism. Last year, women's rights activist Delaram Ali was sentenced to 20 lashes and 10 months in prison for committing the crime of "propaganda against the system." After international protests, the judiciary reduced her sentence to "only" 10 lashes and 36 months in prison and then temporarily suspended her sentence. She still faces the threat of imprisonment.

Earlier this year, Senator Clinton said that "Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is in the forefront of that" effort. Senator Clinton argued that part of our response must include stronger sanctions, including the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization. John McCain and I could not agree more.

Senator Clinton understands the nature of this threat and what we must do to confront it. This is an issue that should unite all Americans. Iran should not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. Period. And in a single voice, we must be loud enough for the whole world to hear: Stop Iran!

Only by working together, across national, religious, and political differences, can we alter this regime's dangerous behavior. Iran has many vulnerabilities, including a regime weakened by sanctions and a population eager to embrace opportunities with the West. We must increase economic pressure to change Iran's behavior.

Tomorrow, Ahmadinejad will come to New York. On our soil, he will exercise the right of freedom of speech — a right he denies his own people. He will share his hateful agenda with the world. Our task is to focus the world on what can be done to stop him.

We must rally the world to press for truly tough sanctions at the U.N. or with our allies if Iran's allies continue to block action in the U.N. We must start with restrictions on Iran's refined petroleum imports.

We must reduce our dependency on foreign oil to weaken Iran's economic influence.

We must target the regime's assets abroad; bank accounts, investments, and trading partners.

President Ahmadinejad should be held accountable for inciting genocide, a crime under international law.

We must sanction Iran's Central Bank and the Revolutionary Guard Corps — which no one should doubt is a terrorist organization.

Together, we can stop Iran's nuclear program.

Senator McCain has made a solemn commitment that I strongly endorse: Never again will we risk another Holocaust. And this is not a wish, a request, or a plea to Israel's enemies. This is a promise that the United States and Israel will honor, against any enemy who cares to test us. It is John McCain's promise and it is my promise.

This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage. Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Before McCain speaks today, veterans will haul these garbage bags filled with flags out onto the stage — with dramatic effect, no doubt — and tell the story.

"What you see in the picture I sent you is less than half of total flags," a Republican official emailed. "We estimate the total number to be around 12,000 small flags and one full size 3×5 flag."

Not surprising if you knew the first day of the Democrat convention they had to scroll the words of the Pledge of Allegiance across the big screen so everyone could keep up.

Update 4:05 pm 6 Sept. The Democrats are saying those flags were being stored next to those dumpsters.

Damon Jones, spokesman for the Democratic National Convention Committee, released a statement saying McCain should applaud the fact that thousands of American flags were “proudly waved” at their convention.

“But instead his supporters wrongfully took leftover bundles of our flags from the stadium to play out a cheap political stunt calling into question our patriotism,” he said.

While those of you who come here often may already know how I stand let me reiterate it once more for new readers. I am very cynical toward politicians of every stripe. They have consistently shipwrecked their principles when seduced by the siren's call of power and privilege. No sooner do they gain office than they become the representatives of government interest rather than their constituents. From bottom to top there is a desperate grasp for more tax revenue to finance the stampede to buy votes from people willing to sell their souls for government cheese. Worse yet are the liberals who display an active contempt for the very nation they purport to serve. Yet the Republican Party has found no backbone to stand up to them, until now.

I was resolved to four years of Carter era policies. Barack Obama has embraced every tenet of Jimmy Carter's administration. I lived through that era and all I can say for it was it was blessedly short. I did not see much evidence that John McCain could overcome the weight of nonsense that is Obama until his speech at the convention and his choice of Sara Palin as his running mate.

Some signs quickly emerged that this will be a different kind of ticket. Most telling was the near universal criticism of the choice for VP. The howling of the media and discontent of the Republican establishment told more than even the resounding support of the general public. Whatever moves contrary to the pundits and autocrats is sweet music to me. As for McCain's acceptance speech, one line stands above all the rest. It's not in the text of his speech, he said he would veto bills larded up with pork and make famous the names of those politicians who put that stuff in. The light of day is the first weapon against the parasites in our legislature. The next is the anger of the public. A president who will hold our elected officials responsible will do a great service to our nation. That is why I am whole heartily for John McCain and Sara Palin for our next President and Vice-president.

The Democratic Party is offering "Democracy Bonds" so that you and I can "Make your commitment to reform the political process, build the Democratic Party in every state, and win elections at every level of office."

When I saw this I naturally was intrigued. Offering an investment just seemed foreign to the Democrats who regularly impugn the profits made by investors. Democrat elected officials are always looking to tax away the gains so they may be paid out to others who have done nothing to warrant such largess other than their willingness to vote for politicians who will give them more. That they would now be willing to offer a bond to finance the efforts of the party is just remarkable. The only investment I've ever heard offered from a Democrat is the false investment of tax revenue into some socialist scheme.

Just for reference I have included the definition of what a bond is from TheStreet.com:

Bonds are debt securities issued by corporations and governments.

Bonds are, in fact, loans that you and other investors make to the issuers in return for the promise of being paid interest, usually but not always at a fixed rate, over the loan term. The issuer also promises to repay the loan principal at maturity, on time and in full.

Because most bonds pay interest on a regular basis, they are also described as fixed-income investments. While the term bond is used generically to describe all debt securities, bonds are specifically long-term investments, with maturities longer than ten years.

Try as I might I could find no offer of interest on the money I sent in. Quite the contrary. What they offered was an opportunity for me to have them automatically withdraw money from my credit card account each month. For that I get a " Democracy Bond." There just may be no noun that the Democrats haven't twisted into something it isn't. George Orwell, Newspeak has arrived.

Obama and the Second Amendment

Barack Obama would have us believe he is in favor of the Supreme Court ruling on the Second Amendment guarantee of an individual's right to keep and bear arms. His past efforts betray his disingenuineness on this right. If elected there are ten ways he will attack that very right.

1. Ban the use of firearms for home defense.
2. Pass Federal laws eliminating your right to carry.
3. Ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.
4. Close down 90% of the gun shops in America.
5. Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.
6. Increase federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500%.
7. Restore voting rights for five million criminals convicted of using a gun to commit a violent crime.
8. Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions more firearms.
9. Mandate a government-issued license to purchase a firearm.
10. Appoint judges to the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal Judiciary who share his views on the Second Amendment.

This is substantiated by the books he wrote, organizations he directed and bills he sponsored in the past. He wrote in the Audacity of Hope, "I believe in keeping guns out of our inner cities." He sat as a member of the board for the Joyce Foundation for seven years which gave $30 million to anti-gun organizations and he demanded laws that would increase taxes on guns, ban gun stores within five miles of a school which would eliminate any stores except in the most remote parts of the country and smart gun technology that would greatly increase the cost of manufacture.

He takes the most extreme measures to protect the "rights" gained by Roe v. Wade yet is adamant about destroying the clear right spelled out in the bill of rights that protects the citizens from tyranny.

Traitor for President

Senator Barack Hussein Obama is post-national; that is, he thinks we should disregard national boundaries and constitutions. Presumably, he thinks that to say the United States is a sovereign nation is old hat. (See Jeffrey Kuhner's August 11 2008 article, "Obama: The Post-National Candidate," Washington Times National Weekly Edition.)

Mr. Obama says he doesn't display the flag on his airplane because it would look like he's taking sides. (Whatever happened to "My country, right or wrong!")

Mr. Obama has substituted his own official seal for that of the president of the United States. His seal features a big "O." That is the designation of universal blood donors, who can give blood to just about everybody. And giving the wealth built by US citizen's blood, sweat and tears to the rest of the world is exactly what he proposes.

Now that Vladimir Putin has reestablished Russia on the Axis of Evil alongside Iran and North Korea we had better find a president who places United States interests first, and who espouses global interests only in support of our country.

Nations like Red China, Russia and Iran threaten to destroy us using their economic and military power. This is no time to say, as the senator suggests, we do not exist as a nation. That would be like turning our backs on our country in time of war, as traitors do. Three people in Hampton were recently charged with voter fraud. Now Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Jeff Frederick is calling for a statewide investigation.

Virginia GOP Chairman calls for criminal investigation into mounting evidence of coordinated voter fraud activities

Richmond, Virginia (July 28, 2008) – Delegate Jeff Frederick, Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia, this morning called on Governor Kaine and Attorney General McDonnell to open a thorough and rigorous investigation into what appears to be coordinated and widespread voter fraud activities occurring throughout Virginia.

Frederick’s request is in response to a report last week of three individuals in Hampton, Virginia being arrested and charged with voter registration fraud, a Class 5 Felony, as well as reports of fraudulent voter registration forms in Richmond. According to a signed affidavit, a Richmond voter had a fraudulent new registration card submitted to the local registrar. When the victim was notified on Thursday afternoon, the registrar informed her that there were other similar applications submitted in Richmond. (see affidavit)

The individuals in Hampton worked for Community Voters Project – a 3rd party group with ties to Fund for Public Interest and the Public Interest Research Group (PIRG). PIRG, which seems to be a front group for a number of left wing causes, has a documented history of attempting to add fraudulent, phony or duplicative names to the voter registries across the nation.

“It seems nearly every day, I read or hear of some news report about how many new people are being registered to vote in Virginia in anticipation of the Presidential race this year. Getting more citizens involved in the process is great – that’s what democracy is all about. Yet, nothing undermines democracy more than poisoning the process and jeopardizing the integrity of our elections,” said Frederick.

“This is a very serious and troubling trend that we are seeing in Virginia,” he added. “Laws are being broken and Virginians have to wonder if there is a deliberate effort underway to corrupt and affect the outcome of November’s elections. I urge the Governor and Attorney General to take immediate action to investigate these matters.”

Even more troubling, Frederick said, was the opportunity for identity theft when citizens register to vote with these groups, as people must give a correct social security number on the voter registration form.

“People must exercise extreme caution when putting their private information into the hands of a stranger, for obvious reasons. I encourage voters to contact their local registrars and the major credit bureaus to verify that their voter and financial information has not been tampered with.”

I'm perplexed as to why voter registration drives are necessary in a state that has moter-voter laws. Everyone who has a driver's license issued in this state is offered a voter registration form. If there is a necessity it would be for the election board to update the registry to eliminate people who are not longer eligible to vote such as the illegal, incarcerated and interred thus eliminating most of the Democrat base.

More perplexing is the near exclusive interest Liberals have in corrupting the vote. This is the best clue as to how they would rule over us if they had unfettered power. No rules, just do as you are told.

Embarrassments

Barack Hussein Obama, potentially my opponent in the upcoming presidential election, was right when he said we should be embarrassed about our language skills. When in France we can only say, "Merci boucoups," he said.

However, our language proficiency right here in the United States is much more embarrassing. In many of our cities, English is a second language - second to Spanish and "jive talk." English dictionaries are plentiful. They explain the spelling, meaning and pronunciation of all the words in the English language; and many dictionaries contain appendices for grammar and punctuation as well. But, some individuals, determined not to be like "gringos" or "whitey," deliberately abuse the language even though refusal to speak English well is counterproductive for the individual. Perhaps as many as 11 million of our Hispanic citizens and 20 million of our black citizens speak English poorly or not at all.

As for comparison of our culture with the Europeans', polite pity toward them would be appropriate, not personal embarrassment. But, we might also acknowledge that we see them as a harbinger of what we will be like if we continue down the road away from our Constitution and toward socialism.

As a soldier, I served twice in Europe, 1948-1951 and 1956-1959, and I saw no reason to be embarrassed about being just an English-speaking American among multilingual Europeans.

All my life, I've heard that many Europeans look on us as the uncultured, Ugly Americans and how sophisticated the Europeans are. But, really, how sophisticated are they? The Germans fell for the oratory and pageantry of Herr Shickelgruber, and followed him to their doom and the demise of the Third Reich. They listened to John F.Kennedy and Ronald Reagan speak in Berlin about freedom and individual liberty; and The Wall came down. Can they discern now the significance of Senator Obama's message to the German people? Do they realize he advocates international socialism and Sharia law-like global conformity?

Today, we are telling the world that this erstwhile freedom-loving country is considering electing president some one who hates this country and has communist friends and associates; e.g., Frank Davis and Bill Ayers. Now, that's embarassing.

Obama's World Tour

The big European tour of "Obama: The Rock Opera" drew a huge crowd, not because Obama was there so much as free food, beer and rock bands sucked them in for Barack's photo op. Gerard Baker of The Times Online in the UK has let slip the crack in the Obama myth that all are enthralled by his message of change. His article is entitled "He ventured forth to bring light to the world." It is well worth reading. I could not help after I read it to recall the last lines of "Tommy."

More telling of what this whole charade is really about is the gushing reports that Obama is raising much more donations from ex-pats in Europe than McCain. He's fleecing the kool aid drinkers but fooling no one else.

Barack Obama's Inner Kook

While touring overseas, Barack Obama noticed that the troop's televisions were all tuned to Fox News. Since this seemed unfathomable to him he commented on it, speculating that it was a mandate by President Bush.

I suppose to him it's the right wing conspiracy pumping propaganda to the troops so they can continued to be fooled into serving the commander-in-chief by fighting in Iraq. He just can't grasp the concept that our soldiers would freely choose to watch something other than the mainstream media. To take the assumption that the President was forcing them to watch Fox News is an indication that he is either a kook or he naturally expects the current President to be handling such things in the same way he would when President.

He could just be perplexed that they were watching the only network that didn't have an anchor to travel with him.

How easy is it to know if a candidate has core beliefs that drive his effort to gain elective office or if he is just another politician trying to game the polls to win at any cost? Just count the number of advisers. In the crucial area of foreign relations Obama has no less than 300 advisers.

Every day around 8 a.m., foreign policy aides at Senator Barack Obama's Chicago campaign headquarters send him two e-mails: a briefing on major world developments over the previous 24 hours and a set of questions, accompanied by suggested answers, that the candidate is likely to be asked about international relations during the day....

...Behind the e-mail messages is a tight-knit group of aides supported by a huge 300-person foreign policy campaign bureaucracy, organized like a mini State Department, to assist a candidate whose limited national security experience remains a concern to many voters.

"It is unwieldy, no question," said Denis McDonough, 38, Obama's top foreign policy aide, speaking of an infrastructure that has been divided into 20 teams based on regions and issues, and that has recently absorbed, with some tensions, the top foreign policy advisers from Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign...

...Obama's Republican rival, Senator John McCain of Arizona, has a far smaller and looser foreign policy advisory operation, about 75 people in all, and none are organized into teams.

300 advisers broke up into 20 teams so Obama can know what to say about foreign policy matters? What more evidence does one need to confirm his lack of experience and vision? If he has any underlying philosophy that drives him he is hiding it behind the green curtain of his advisory teams.

Worse though is who the people are who make up this mob. No less than Madeleine Albright and Warren Christopher two of the most clueless secretaries of state we have had and Anthony Lake, Lee Hamilton, Richard Clarke all warmer over dinosaurs from the blame America first crowd. Here is what Ralph Peters said about them in The New York Post.

These are the people whose watch saw the first attack on the World Trade Center, Mogadishu, Rwanda, the Srebrenica massacre, a pass for the Russians on Chechnya, the Khobar Towers bombing, the attacks on our embassies in Africa, the near-sinking of the USS Cole - oh, and the US bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade.

Obama is either full of bologna or clueless, neither of which would be good for this country. Just looking at who he has surrounded himself with I vote for clueless

Old Glory Waving

Time is running out. With only four months to go to the November election, we'd better try to visualize our future with each of the presidential candidates.

Under the wrong administration, the United States Constitution might cease to exist. Given an attack the size of 9/11 or larger on our country, destruction might be great enough to result in placing our nation under martial law. A mere group of 19 men armed only with box cutters in a few minutes vaporized 3000 people in their skyscrapers and the Pentagon, severely damaged our national military headquarters and financial center, ran our congressmen out of their offices, grounded air travel, and dealt a blow to our economy with effects which lasted over a year. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that a larger attack on one of our cities with a more destructive weapon might result in takeover of control of the nation by the president. He might rule by fiat, the constitutional checks and balances gone. A Marxist-Muslim Barack Hussein Obama as president might in effect swiftly nullify the Constitution.

Barack Hussein Obama has thus far succeeded in concealing or pragmatically denouncing the Muslims, communists, terrorists, and crooks he has associated himself with all his life; and he is slow to reject the endorsements of his presidential candidacy by such despots and terrorists as Kim Jong Il, Ahmedinejad, Hugo Chavez, Muammar Khadafi, Fidel Castro and Hezbollah. Heavily funded by the likes of multi-billionaire Greek George Soros, he plays into the hands of the Marxist media who seem to be more interested in building an intriguing story than supporting our nation at war.

Perhaps thoughtful voters are not deceived by Mr. Obama's pandering and oratorical spell-binding. Maybe they noticed the presidential seal he designed for himself to use on the podium as he spoke at a Democrat governors meeting June 20, 2008. His seal was a take-off on the Great Seal of The United States, but, there was no flag on the seal. An "O" on the spread-eagled breast was where the flag should be. Obama's name replaced the United States of America, saying, "Obama for America" (without identifying what part of the Western Hemisphere he was for, such as the United States, Cuba or Venezuela); the motto, "Yes, we can" replaced "E Pluribus Unum" ("Out of many, one"); and Congress was evidently out of a job, because our leader's web site was provided, which we may go to directly, to discover what we must do to serve him. Might Mr.Obama take down the American flag now waving over the White House and replace it on alternate days with the hammer and sickle, and the crescent and scimitar? He has an obvious aversion to display of our flag.

With the presidential election approaching, we urgently need to realize how little there really is left of our Constitution, and which contender for the office is apt to repair the damage done. Today, our once-revered Constitution is often ignored and sometimes reviled. Property rights are no longer assured - the Kelo decision allowed a local jurisdiction to exercise eminent domain and transfer private property from one owner to another in order to increase tax revenue. National sovereignty is no longer protected. We entertain such demeaning schemes as the Kyoto treaty, the North American Union, the Global Poverty Act, and the Law of The Sea. Individual liberty is severely threatened by "fairness in broadcasting," abortion, hand over of local public schools to a massive federal bureaucracy, transfer of wealth, and persecution of Christians. Meanwhile, armed combatants detained by our armed forces overseas are extended rights of United States citizens and prisoners of war when the detainees qualify as neither; and the judicial branch usurps the exclusive authority of the legislative and executive branches to write and execute law.

Francis Scott Key's anxiety that night 194 years ago was well founded. Ratification of our Constitution had created us as a nation just 27 years earlier, and British warships were bombarding our defenders on Fort McHenry.

"O say can you see," Mr. Key wrote, "What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?

Our flag and the republic for which it stands were in mortal danger in 1814 - and are much more so now. Incredibly, we are actually considering elevating to the position of president someone ineligible for a security clearance. He has closely associated himself his entire life with communists, terrorists and crooks to the extent that he is a potentially grave security risk.

Lest we lose what liberty and freedom we now have, we had better vote someone into the office of president who unabashedly loves our country and its Constitution. That would be Senator John McCain.

After the Supreme Court ruling upholding the individual right to own weapons Obama came out with this statement:

"I have always believed that the Second Amendment protects the right of individuals to bear arms, but I also identify with the need for crime-ravaged communities to save their children from the violence that plagues our streets through common-sense, effective safety measures. The Supreme Court has now endorsed that view, and while it ruled that the D.C. gun ban went too far, Justice Scalia himself acknowledged that this right is not absolute and subject to reasonable regulations enacted by local communities to keep their streets safe. Today's ruling, the first clear statement on this issue in 127 years, will provide much-needed guidance to local jurisdictions across the country.

"As President, I will uphold the constitutional rights of law-abiding gun-owners, hunters, and sportsmen. I know that what works in Chicago may not work in Cheyenne. We can work together to enact common-sense laws, like closing the gun show loophole and improving our background check system, so that guns do not fall into the hands of terrorists or criminals. Today's decision reinforces that if we act responsibly, we can both protect the constitutional right to bear arms and keep our communities and our children safe."

Supreme Court Rules on Second Amendment.

In a 5-4 decision the Supreme court has struck down the Wash D.C. Gun ban. In his opinion for the majority Justice Scalia ruled that the second amendment was an individual right. That right includs hunting and self defence.

Kennedy resisted the urge to go with nonsense.

Update 11:10 am: The dissenting opinion called the majority judicial activists. If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black I haven't seen it. What a joke. The ones most routinely legislating from the bench calling the constructionists activists.

Un-supersize Me

Everyone has heard about the movie Supersize Me. That is the documentary of Morgan Spurlock's 30 day McDonalds only diet resulting in him gaining 27 pounds and the health problems associated with such a gain. His purpose was to look into the effects fast food may have in contributing to the increase of obesity in the US.

Contrast that with the experience of Chris Coleson of Quinton, VA.

Frustrated by a number of false starts with losing weight, he made a bold prediction to his wife, Tricia Sumner -- that he could lose weight and do it by eating only at McDonald's. He chose the fast-food chain in part because its locations are convenient for his busy schedule.

"There was a level of fear after I said that," said Coleson, who has no affiliation with McDonald's other than eating almost every meal there during his diet. "At that point, I had to stick with it."...

... Coleson dropped from 278 pounds when he started the diet Dec. 3 to 199 as of yesterday, the last time he weighed himself.

What Chris did was simply cut the bread and restrict the calories. He consumed between 1200-1400 calories a day. The single most important thing he did though was he kept a food log. By saving the receipts and then pasting then in a notebook, he kept track of what he was eating at each meal. This is the critical factor to my own weight loss. Knowing I would be putting every item into a log that calculated my calories, cabs, fat and protein I was very careful about mindless eating. Mr. Coleson needs to make some adjustments to his eating habits to add to his healthy gains but he has slain the giant, He no longer eats mindlessly. It matters little what one eats if one eats less calories than one uses. That is why any diet will work if one sticks with the program. Issues such as insulin resistance and cholesterol can be addressed at the same time with a proper diet but if it is not one that is appealing enough to stay on it, it is of no value. Chris Coleson achieved this.

Coleson said he got to where he couldn't fit into a booth at restaurants, barely could tie his shoes, and had to sleep sitting up to be comfortable. His children, James and Meghan, would call him old and fat and pound on his belly as a joke. He put "OLD-NFAT" on the license plates of his car...

...For his wife's 40th birthday in April, Coleson spent $274.18 on McDonald's food, which he catered at the YMCA for about 35 people (the receipt's in one of his journals). But the big present for his wife came when he put on his wedding ring, which he had removed from a painfully swollen finger seven years ago.

The license plates on his vehicle now say "MCFIT." His waist size has dropped from 50 to 36.

Cut the calories, balance the carbs, fat and protein to 40%, 30% and 30% respectively but most importantly, keep a food log. It will transform the way you eat. Chirs Colesome did it eating at McDonalds.

Professor Claims Va. Lottery Misrepresents Prizes

While private lotteries are illegal in Virginia, the State enjoys a monopoly on gambling with the exception of bingo games operated by charitable organization. The reason for this is the state fears it cannot prevent fraud if someone other than the state were to be free to offer lotteries or numbers games, or it would invite the participation of organized crime. As has been found in most government programs however; the lottery as run by the State of Virginia not only offers poor odds but it has been discovered that it sells tickets that have zero possibility of winning.

Monday, a Roanoke law firm announced its intention to sue the lottery on behalf of Scott Hoover, an associate professor at Washington and Lee University who teaches applied business statistics. The letter that lawyer John Fishwick sent to the state claims the lottery has violated its contract with scratch ticket buyers by purposefully selling tickets that have no chance at all of winning a top prize.

"We estimate that since 2003, the state has sold over 26.5 million losing tickets in this way, pocketing an estimated $84.7 million in purchase prices from the shell game," Fishwick said. "The state cannot continue to boost revenues by knowingly selling its citizens defective tickets based on hollow promises of an opportunity that does not exist."

There are severe penalties for individuals who violate the gaming laws of perpetuate such a fraud but the politicians have made quite plain that the State be free from such worries.

§ 18.2-334.3. Exemptions to article; state lottery.

Nothing in this article shall apply to any lottery conducted by the Commonwealth of Virginia pursuant to Chapter 40 of Title 58.1.

So it is no surprise that this action by the State Lottery Board is intentional. When there is no threat of penalty there is nothing to stop fraud even by the government.

Hoover began tracking the data the lottery posted on its Internet site about how often top prizes were given out in scratch games and realized "the numbers posted online violated basic laws of statistics."

Working with Fishwick's firm, he filed Virginia Freedom of Information Act requests and learned that by July 24, 2007, three days before he bought his tickets, all of the grand prizes had been given out for that particular batch. "When I bought these, there was zero chance to win the $75,000 prize," Hoover said.

Hoover alleges that the state has done the same thing in all its scratch games, leaving batches of tickets on sale after all the grand prizes from the batch are claimed, instead of telling retailers to pull the "stale" tickets and replace them immediately with a new batch.

When a game is popular, the state will in fact print a new batch of tickets, which has a new set of top prizes. Yet it will let the entire first run of tickets sell out, even if all of the top prizes for that run have been claimed, Hoover asserted. Thus it's possible for someone to buy a ticket from the old batch, thinking he's eligible for one of the new prizes, when that ticket has no chance of winning.

The State cannot claim ignorance either. Last year the State of Texas lottery was found to have been doing the very same thing. A State Senator forced the government to stop the practice. It would be a stretch to believe the members of the Virginia State Lottery were not aware of the results of the Texas controversy, yet they continued the fraud believing somehow they would never be caught.

World Aids Pandemic Over

So says the World Health Organization.

Aids may kill more individuals that all the world's wars grouped together, but the threat of a world pandemic is over, the World Health Organisation has officially conceded.

In a surprising about-turn, the organisation has admitted that for hetrosexuals outside of Africa Aids is not on the increase, although they insist there is still concern about some high risk groups, such as intravenous drug users, homosexual men and prostitutes.

Kevin de Cock, an epidemiologist and head of the WHO's department of HIV/Aids, explains: 'It is very unlikely there will be a heterosexual epidemic in other countries [outside continental Africa].

'Ten years ago a lot of people were saying there would be a generalised epidemic in Asia - China was the big worry with its huge population. That doesn't look likely. But we have to be careful.

What hey didn't say is that it never started. The dire predictions of widespread aids among heterosexuals were all just a smoke screen to hide the main cause of the spread of the disease, sexual practices common among male homosexuals. Africa remains the source of the greater numbers of heterosexual aids so one has to surmise that the whole story on what people are doing in Africa is not being told. I do know from previous reading the unsanitary medical practices are high on the list. One can't use the same needle for vaccinations for 20-30 people without complications, by people how should know better no less.

Just as we are witnessing with global warming, the talking heads and politicians made up a threat as a cover for them to pick our pockets and push their leftist nonsense. Now that no one is buying that pandemic stuff they decide to declare victory and move on.

As for the opening line about Aids killing more people than all the worlds wars put together, BOLOGNA! It's nothing more than the same hyperbole they spew whenever they have some new cause celeb they wish to milk. Weren't we all supposed to be underwater by now because of global warming? What happened to the Bird Flu pandemic? What about us all dying in a nuclear holocaust?

The real question is when will people stop falling for this nonsense?

Obama Quits Trinity United Church

The heat has gotten to Obama. It was the heat of the spotlight on the Church he chose to raise his family in. He was married there, his children were baptized there and his mentor and spiritual leader, Rev Wright was there. Twenty years and the start of his political career went through that church and no one thought it was any different than any other church, until the national spotlight was turned on it.

The scenes we have witnessed from the pulpit are shocking to every sane person witnessing them. Barack Obama had no place to hide. Like the mice in the kitchen when the lights go on he scurried for cover but there was none. His Pastor and spiritual adviser only threw fuel in the fire once it started. Every two weeks he had to dump another kook from his campaign because of racist statements they had made. He has had to explain away associations with truly undesirable people and elitist and offensive statements he has made without the tried and true method of the past that let others such as Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton buffalo the public. They could silence any criticism by simply crying "racist!" Those days a fast becoming history because of Barack Obama. Not because he has sought to bring them to an end but because his candidacy has inadvertently lifted the rock revealing the slime and corruption of the civil rights activists.

The most damning part of this whole ordeal for Obama is his statement after he was asked if he had any idea his relationship with the pastor of the church he attended for twenty years would be such a problem.

"This was one I didn't see coming,"

Habitat for Humanity Partners with Planned Parenthood

The one thing Jimmy Carter did that was worthwhile was supporting the organization Habitat for Humanity. Like most things Carter gets involved with, even this one has descended into nonsense.

Zoning ordinances prevented Planned Parenthood from opening an abortion clinic in the Rosemary district of Sarasota, Fla. They did, that is, until Habitat for Humanity's Sarasota affiliate stepped in to help out.

By agreeing to purchase Planned Parenthood's land for $10 and build housing on a portion of it, Habitat for Humanity enabled Planned Parenthood to bypass a city requirement that had been preventing the organization from obtaining an occupancy permit.

Planned Parenthood's dilemma stemmed from city ordinances that required a multifamily "liner" building be constructed at the back of the property before Planned Parenthood could open a clinic at the front. The organization had been unable to secure a builder to meet the requirement…until they found Habitat for Humanity.

That's right Habitat for Humanity helped Planned Parenthood build an abortion mill in exchange for land to build houses for the poor. That's their business if they want to support such things but they will now do it without my future support. I don't know what it is about charity organizations that they all seem to eventually start shilling for liberal nonsense. It is doubly curious when one considers that a large portion of charitable donations come from citizens who are conservative in their politics. Liberals are notorious for being skinflints when it comes to giving out of their own funds. Yet the organizations that accept these donations just can't resist falling for some liberal cause that will alienate them from many givers.

My friend at POMIL has summed up the strategy of the media and Obama supporters in handling criticism of his stand on various issues. It has been made clear by such luminaries as Chris Matthews that the reason Barrack does not get all the votes is because those who do not vote for him do so because they are racists. Francis Bakes makes a point few seem to consider.

Anyone who criticizes Barack Hussein Obama is apt to be labeled racist.

But, to which race are the allegedly racist remarks ascribed? The senator is racially united, half white and half black - mulatto, by definition. Are we attacking "Whitey" when we criticize him?

If we say he is a socialist, what is the racial component of that remark? If we say that he, with his life-long background of close association with communists, domestic terrorists, anti-Americans, racists, and foreign despots should be denied a security clearance, upon which race do we peg that opinion?

It is ironic that race is such a hot topic within the Democrat primaries but is never brought up by the Republicans. It is even more ironic when you remember (as I do) the "Solid South" Democrats of the 1930s and 40s who kept the Negroes "in their place."

In this crucial war-time election, the electorate must not allow themselves to be silenced by racial blackmailers.

Some of the electorate met today at the cemetery here in Warrenton to honor those who helped preserve our liberty and national sovereignty. They are in no mood to humor egotistical, clue-less, nitwits who threaten our Constitution.

Monica Lin Brown Receives the Silver Star

This Memorial day I would like to highlight one soldier who exemplifies the type of people we have serving our country. She is only the second woman to recieve the Silver Star since WorldWar II.

On April 25, 2007, Brown was the medic on a mission to hunt members of a bombmaking cell. The patrol had finished its work and was returning to its base, with platoon commander Lt. Martin Robbins in the lead Humvee. The last of the five trucks had just eased down a dip in the rough road when one of its rear wheels triggered an improvised bomb, shredding the back of the truck.

Insurgents then began firing assault rifles and machine guns, and soon a mortar team arrived.

Brown and her platoon sergeant dashed back to the burning truck, where all five soldiers who had been inside were wounded.

Brown and the soldiers who were least injured helped the others move away from the flames, down into a shallow stream bed for cover. But the flames began to detonate mortar shells and bullets in the truck, and the soldiers were quickly caught in a crossfire of automatic weapons fire from insurgents and blasts from the truck, Robbins said.

This was the first of two points in the firefight where Brown lay across wounded men to shield them.

Robbins had been so far ahead when the attack started he didn't hear the explosion but turned around when his Humvee came under fire.

The shooting went on more than half an hour, and the wounded soldiers had to be moved twice to safer locations. By the time the fight was over, Brown had used up all the supplies in her aid bag. All five of the wounded men were later evacuated by helicopter.

Paul Boyce, an Army spokesman at the Pentagon, said regulations prevent women from permanent assignments to front-line combat units such as Robbins' but that temporary assignments like Brown's are allowed.

Robbins said there was no question in his mind or that of anyone else there that day that Brown deserved the medal. He put in the paperwork for it, though the process took several months.

The Army let her brother Justin come to the medal ceremony, but she had one wish the Army couldn't grant, which was to bring the soldiers from Robbins' platoon to the ceremony too. They were in transit home.

"They looked out for me," she said. "I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for them."
